Thread: Conway & Chien Lee have left the building

Shareholders seeing the club lose 8m of TV revenue plus other debts mounting is likely to be the catalyst for todays developments as this dwarfs other income including season tickets and commercial contracts.

We need a statement from someone believable to confirm exactly what the current state of affairs is regarding ownership and shareholding. Whose got what?

What is the business plan for BFC?

Why do we need a head of academy coaching? Where has Hassell gone?

I’m not convinced we’re out of the woods yet. It’s all too vague.

Is this similar to how Patrick and Gordon Shepherd got Peter Risdale out of the club, back in '04 ?.

You did get me thinking a while back Ponty, about how genuine Luke G and his Protest group were. And why it fell apart all of a sudden, and why he left it so suddenly, and why he won't talk about it anymore etc.
But as far as I can see now, wasn't he the only one making the effort, and it looks like he was the only one taking all the unfair flak as well.
I think it shows courage for lifelong fans to make such a hard decision, and stay away from their club. Decisions like that can't be easy, and it shows summat is drastically wrong at the club for it to happen.

So can you blame people for not wanting anything to do with you and your constant defending of Conway & co.
Now you want to celebrate this news and shake hands do you ?. Well Nudger will, but Im guessing nobody else will!.
Yes certainly good riddance to any "fan" prepared to kill of of the club because like young children they can't cope with difficult times.

As for defending Conway, my point was always to write facts and not fill in the unknowns with half truths (which if repeated enough become accepted as fact) which was mainly the case on here BBS & Tykes Tv. Yes he was a cocky American businessman but that doesn't mean the truth goes out of the window.

I pointed out that the main issue with PMG was incompetence particularly on transfers & accumulating a too large squad with a massive 14.4m wage bill. I also often said it would be great to have local owners that invest, maybe the Crynes will now bring that to fruition.

The Conway Out campaign was so poor & embarrassing if anything it took the heat of Conway, particularly after the 'protest' day that ended with paper planes & Beth covered in beer, as anyone with any sense distanced themselves from it after that.

However, the main thing for us all is we still have a club alive & kicking & some hope, tbh i don't know how the "If the club dies it dies" mob will have the nerve to return to Oakwell.

How can it be those fans who are killing off the club though ?.
Ok you could argue that by not turning up, they are sort of doing nothing while it dies etc.
But lets never forget that its been put in this awful position in the first place, by Conway & co.
And its more than just about feeling sorry for themselves after a relegation (which you keep accusing them of), a heck of a lot more actually.

The only reason that Conway and fellow charlatans have one foot out of the door is he sees no immediate prospect of generating enough money and the possibility of needing to put money in, which is not his policy or practice.
He has spent the £4million that was in credit in the club's bank account when he arrived and now has no reserves to fall back on. He has spent £750K of the club's money to pay his first instalment to buy the club and faces Court action to get the rest from him. He has lost £7mill due to relegation, caused by his spell as CEO last summer appointing Schopp and buying Oulare, Iseka and Cole.
The final straw is a dramatic fall in ST sales, said to be 2300 by last week, losing about £2million in income.

He is (hopefully) running away from the financial mess he has left the club in. Well done to Luke Goddard pointing all this out in his Garrison presentation weeks ago, a presentation not many would have the balls to do given the nature of some of people who were there, and to all fans who refused to buy ST's until the virus stopped infecting the club.

Rejoice, but not quite yet. I want to see a photo of Conway's arse waddling out of Oakwell for good.

In my opinion this is just a ploy to try to get fans back in the stadium. There has been no change of ownership so the investment will remain the same... nowt. We've had changes at boardroom level before and we haven't suddenly become better because of it, but remained the same. I think they agreed amongst the investors, that the board would change because fans hated Conman so much and wanted him gone. What better way to try and appease fans and get them back, than by having a Cryne, who fans can relate to, take his place. Just my opinion as I've said and I'll happily eat crow if I'm wrong.

Pretty much spot on…… The emperor has new clothes, but he’s still the emporer.

Yes but the Emperor is no longer in control , surely at least this is a step in right direction something that most of us have been wanting for a long time, we have more local interest on the board & actual fans of the club on board with the Crynes which has to be a positive or do we have to be totally negative about everything , I am happy that we are trying to address our problems , there is a lot more to do but at least in my opinion these changes at board room level are something to rejoice .

I hope this is a positive step forward, and a genuine attempt to start putting things right, and getting fans back on side.
But it concerns me that the main offenders Conway & co, are still there in some sort of role. If they said they would leave if or when they knew they weren't wanted here, then how much more clear does it need to be, after being 'voed off' like this.
Surely he and Lee and Hung etc, have all got the message now!!.

I had to laugh at those signs btw, at a few of their other clubs, saying "F*uck PMG". 😅
