Surely McLennan will be away permanently, he's not even been in a squad all season. Lewis IS the back up now. And keep Bates! Might sound weird to some but I quite liked him at times last season, threw his body on the line a few times as I recall. Ramirez I do not care about at all.

I don't think Bates is a bad player, maybe just a bad pairing with Gallagher. I think with both Ramirez and Bates the issue is that they are surely two of the highest earners from last year.

If Bates goes I really think we need some defensive cover...maybe someone who can play anywhere at the back? A player that has experience, is versatile but happy to be a squad player? The only time I'd be happy with a 'journeyman' type signing. At the moment McCrorie is always at danger of being pulled back to play centre back...maybe even right back if Richardson gets injured. He MUST stay in that midfield.

Bates is utter ****e and Ramirez obviously pissed off Goodwin last season.
It would seem that Goodwin doesn't forgive and forget.

Up to the others who are obviously being left out of the squad whether they move or see out their contracts.

The likes of Lewis may well just stay put unless they can get the same kind of money elsewhere.
Kids don't feed themselves.

The younger players should really be looking for a regular game, even if it means stepping down a level.

If they want him on loan then we should state that they must take Bates, Watkins, McLennan and Joe Lewis with him and they must all play every week….even against us. That will see them plummet down the league.

That's Bates away on a permanent transfer to Mechelen in Belgium, hopefully that is the trigger to bring in another central defender
