    Au revoir Mr Burchnall. Enjoy.
IB isnt stupid he will know if he stays the pressure is on for promotion from the fans mainly.

If you were in his shoes what would you do ?

He isnt a Notts fan and he will probably get more money.

If he goes it will be interesting to see who replaces him

Almost laughable how that managed to happen as a perfect storm of the problems we’ve had all season.

This group, manager and players, has a real mentality problem. That needs sorting before we even think about the style of football stuff. Folded every single time they’ve been put under pressure and things haven’t gone their way this season.

Tbf the stick IB is getting is exactly the same as NA got and probably from the same people. NAs sat in 3rd now with a home semi final with a club with a smaller budget proving he does have something. The truth is to get out of this league you need a lot to go right for you with one auto spot, doesn’t help this season with 2 massive spenders in the league. I’m more than happy for IB to stay but he has to tweak and adapt it a bit else that is neglect, we need to be more robust especially away and again if we end up in the play offs. We weren’t hammered last night but we were off it, sometimes you also need a bit of luck, Forest we’re absolutely choking in their home semifinal but luck was on their side.

The thing is i predict nothing will change with IB, he just has not got it, he has had 2 attempts now at the play offs and failed , next season it will be exactly the same losing against the likes of Eastleigh, and Aldershot , and never really being title contenders

I agree we were not hammered last night, but offered no real threat, the only way we were going to score was from the penelty , that was handed to us
As for luck we certainly did not get that, a last roll of the dice by Grimsby paid off when it deflected of there goalkeeper striaght to a man 5 yards out, absolute luck for them and nothing else, but Notts put them selves in the situation, by sitting deeper and deeper in the closing stages ( thats where IB needs to manage and do his job ) , and foolishly pushing one of there players over to give the free kick

Worse still there 2nd Goal that won it for them was OFFSIDE, if there was VAR it would not have been given, i have said before at Covenrty , Torquay, and now Grimsby , there must be VAR , as i am fed up of us being victims of offside golas , that should never be if there was VAR

I don't think he is good enough to play in division one (Pompey) and regarding Reuben he might not be here next season either then we have lost two 20 goal scorers. Let's see who we get to replace him and see how many goals he scores.

The foul was idiotic, the guy was going nowhere. Their goal appears to be offside but I think it was a nats wisker whether he was further forward than Lacey in the middle.
I wouldn’t judge a manager always by the play offs as so many decent managers have failed and probably poor ones done well.
I’m willing to give him another season if he stays, but as I say we have to change and pick up points away, I think 3rd was more than achievable this season and that’s a massive advantage. That said as I said with NA who I liked, if there’s someone better and we can get them I’d be happy with that too.

Some really good recent posts on the match thread.

I don't think he's good enough either due to lack of mobility, saying that many thought he wouldn't reach 20 goals. As for Ruben, if he goes I want big ££££ because his stats and productivity (goals/assists) have been superb this season especially away from Meadow Lane.

The radar clearly worked with those two, but big shoes to fill if it wants to do it again.
