The list makes sense to me, I like Lacey but he does seem to pick up a lot of injuries else I would definitely keep him. I feel for DKE, he’s one of those players who rarely lets you down. As for Palmer, it’s alright people up in arms about not keeping our home grown players, maybe he’s just nowhere near the mark, being young doesn’t mean you’re good or going to be good. Hope we have offered Brindley a good deal, chicks and brookes I would think will stay and no chance with Wooton.
I think Rawlinson will go, probably one of the young players we signed and I think we’ll cash in on Cal.

I seem to remember Mo Ross, before he got sacked, saying something like 'we're going to sign some beasts,' because he and Birch had identified a lack of fight and aggression throughout the squad. What happened to that?

I don't really get the decision to let DKE go. He was a decent squad player who could play on either side. He always gave it his all and was one of the few (or perhaps only) players on our books who was up for the physical battle. I don't remember him having any bad games to be honest. I doubt he was among the highest earners either.

If we can genuinely find a better option than him then great, but there's no guarantee we will.

I'm a bit disappointed we've released him. He was never going to be a superstar, but he was versatile and I loved his 100+% attitude. He can certainly do a job at this level so I hope he doesn't drop a division. One of my favourite memories of him will always be the chant of 'Dion, Dion, knock him out' when he had an altercation with an opponent a foot taller!

I loved his attitude too. Totally fearless and always willing to fly into tackles. That's the kind of player we need.

I think almost all Notts fans would say they liked DKE, for his attitude if nothing else. He would win his share of headers in open play against a taller winger/opponent, but defending corners is a different matter, and combined with our small/lightweight midfield was possibly a reason for our poor record at defending set pieces.
I hope his replacement defensively, anyway, has that same steely determination to win all of his battles. Just a wee bit taller and more end product going forward.

Exactly. There is something seriously wrong at this club when we release players with the potential of Tyreece Palmer.

We farmed him out on loan twice and he scored goals where ever he was albeit at a lower level. He never had a chance.

When he did he scored at H&W in the Trophy.

This club never ****ing changes it really doesn't.

...wish they would 'release' Burchnall NOW. I can't stand another season with this clown.
TOTALLY AGREE WITH ABOVE. A so called coach who can't coach any of the youth. Our club treats youth with such disdain.

What if the youth arent good enough ??

All our good ones in last 5 years have been poached possibly another too who we offered a contract too.

I have moaned about youth not being given a chance in the past but some of them arent loyal either Etete, Bearne, Donga He.

Its a harsh call but do we need a youth set up in division 5 ??

I dont think there is much point in bemoaning squad list decisions until we see who we bring in. If we manage to improve on what we had last season which is what everyone wants then fantastic we have made the right decisions where possible and obviously a few like Wootton are out of our hands. If we don't then big questions need to be asked. It really is that simple.
