With squad needing improvement all all areas / cost etc, like above says, keeping both Davis & Drameh, would seem a no-brainer, one might just save club a few quid.

One of the few loanees we could actually benefit from using on return?
Davis is decent as is Drameh but will they want to come back and can they overcome the mentality needed to drive for a place which is why both left.

Yes, I think both are decent. They just might want to come back because they would have seen how marsch started Greenwood and Gelhardt. Especially Greenwood against Brentford when Klich could have started. I guess there is the possibility that Davis will ask for transfer to stay at Bournemouth as they have been promoted.

Davis was barely first choice at Bournemouth, time to move on from him.

Drameh deserves his chance, proved his point by going on loan and fair play to him. He will have to really put a shift in for me to change my opinion of his attitude but nobody can say he isn't deserving of that spot in the team

As long as firpo is replaced as he's certainly no left back.

Barca must still be chuckling about how much we paid - albeit I don’t think he is as bad a player as some make out and he may actually be a very good left mid.

Like groundhog day, we've (apparently) identified a club (or in previous seasons, a player) and the blinkers have been applied and candidates from across 6 - 7 countries across Europe who "host" leagues that are superior in terms of quality and achievement are probably going to be overlooked. Pathetic.

Finding players from said leagues of Europe who understand the current PL trend of possession football required ain't hard but the need for time to adapt to the English refereeing style of interpretations and the physicality of the PL games is a different matter - so say French football media pundits.
Good ball possession as MB found out does not equate to winning as most PL games are blood & thunder affairs and anything can happen. Ligue 1 France demands 2 minutes of stroking the ball around when in possession waiting for opportunity.

Personally just hoping that Leeds can acquire a natural 'physical' goal scorer & then make better use of our set piece situations at both ends which will require signings with intelligence, height & cool heads. Interesting now that Man City have got Haaland, which I assume they'll now have to adapt tactically for his required very direct physical approach box-game plan.

On conundrum Orta ? Most judge Orta from the outside via the lens of the transfer windows as nobody is really sure what actually is his 'full remit' from Rad.

For sure there will be an inherent accountability that comes with that in terms of fiduciary requirements & financial requirements - so his transfers are always fraught with risk in that regard aren't they and the the proliferation of Agents in the game now don't make the technical directors job any easier regardless of stats data available.

As for other Directors of football - well, Ralf Rangnick came in with a fanfare & went out with a whimper at Man U after deciding no to become their DOF just as Newcastle announce their new man in the sporting director hot-seat today in Dan Ashworth who had resigned from his technical director role at Brighton in February and has since been on a period of 'gardening leave' while the clubs engaged in 'negotiations'. Hell of a CV for a bloke I never even heard of since he joined Brighton in 2018 after 6 years as the Football Association's technical director I've just been reading - so we'll see how effective his fat CV's are in relation for demanded 'day to day results' required in Geordie wonderland as apparently the job is easy according to some I'm hearing on here regardless of budgets.

Ultimately, if you spend peanuts you'll get ?

But on the other hand/foot you may get ?

Ps sorry for the long expressed views - keeps Andy awake anyway & me able to practice my English. Xx

Eh.... so you think we should just hover round the super 4 leagues and try prise away players from where??? The lower echelons of La Liga? Then you'll be on here telling us that were trying to buy a player from a crap Spanish club.

You do realise that about 40% of the Spanish league players are foreign? About 68% in Premier League, nobody but you thinks its simply a case of looking at the top leagues and buy one of their national players at some presumably bargain price.
