There’s improved wages to pay the players for gaining promotion so that comes out of that money.

More charges for extra policing for when the bigger clubs arrive at the NYS. The sums do start to add up. What budget Stewart gives Warne we’ll never know.

Will this be the year Stewart gets that bit braver?

You forgot the £2million interest free loan the club is paying back in instalments.
Fanbase is nowhere big enough, the £7million extra revenue will be eaten into season by season.

Ideally the club can get to break even and then improve incrementally.

I'm expecting quite a few loan players being signed.

Thought there are new investors being involved this coming season?

Luton were close to getting in to the Premier league on crowds less than ours and hospitality revenue much less.Just needs a little more ambition, there's no reason why we can't do it.Give the manager the support he needs TS.

Luton is a great example, along with Blackpool,Millwall and to some extent,Coventry. We obviously don't know the level of investment at these clubs or the financial backing that people are prepared to 'write off'.It is also worth remembering that we were 2 minutes from staying up last time so it's not like we were well adrift under our previous strategies. That is why we will always be strong in League 1 when we don't over stretch ourselves in The Champ. At least we are not like Norwich, they don't even try in the Prem and seem quite happy taking the 'parachutes' every other year.

Been speaking to a Norwich fan I used to work with and he says the fans are getting a bit pissed off with the club who just use the parachute money and Delia Smith has put nothing in at all. They're happy enough taking all the credit when they get promoted but just keep quiet on relegation front.

It appears to be a sound financial strategy for them. We are probably following the same plot but a lower level.

Norwich's defence would argue that they could throw 100M at it and still get relegated. We are different in that there is no parachute payment when we go down, but what we do is buy very good League 1 players to have a go in the Champ and if we do go down we have a ready made team that can compete at the top immediately. If we threw everything at the champ and overstretched ourselves and still got relegated we would spend more time trying to offload than build or maintain. That is when you get sides that fall through the leagues.

You are correct in saying we were 2 mins from staying up, 6 mins including the 4 mins added on if I'm being pedantic,in our last attempt in the championship, however had Wednesday not had any points deducted regarding FFP we would have already been relegated I believe whatever we did at Cardiff in our last match.
The point I am making is that Blackpool, who I thought were nailed on to come straight back down this season, would have survived regardless of the points Derby and Reading were deducted. UTM

I seem to think there was a thread up a few weeks ago that whilst it wasnt classed as parachute payments, teams being relegated from championship, and also league one and league two, received some kind of financial assistance from the league that had just been relegated from? Or am I dreaming it? UTM
