Derry has spoken about his time at Notts since and made it pretty clear that his biggest frustration was with the amount of interference in who he could have or couldn't have in his squad. I'd be surprised if he was a genuine contender, but if they become desperate, nobody can be ruled out.

Has this turned into a nightmare for them? If so, they should look to sell on. If not, they should consider the prospect of spending 10 more years going to Dorking, Maidstone and the like and do something about it fast, starting with an ambitious coaching appointment.

Very much this. Anyone else thinking that the Broz really don't have the financial clout to take us any further than being an NL club? *waits*

They clearly have the clout, Palmer and Cameron were pretty strong statements last year and that squad isn’t on peanuts. Can or do they want to compete with Wrexham is another matter.

    What a wet weekend.

If you weren't so thin skinned you would realise that the thread isn't "ruined" bar your tangent everyone else is talking about Alty's club statement, our search for a manager and now whether the owners have or haven't the financial clout. Please join in.

The fact that we're signing players without a manager would put quite a few prospective managers off the job. It shows that they'd have very little say in who we sign. Probably one of the reasons IB left, he maybe thought the style of the play the brothers and himself want us to play wouldn't lead to promotion anytime soon.

I'm at a loss who we do bring in which is making me nervous for the season ahead.

Tbh it is very hard to say either way. Gump previously has openly questioned and enquired as to the wealth levels of the owners and links to papa. I believe the conclusion was , nobody knows. Some think they need to spend more, show more ambition or risk a decade at this level.
Others see the signings of Palmer, Cameron plus turning down actual bids in January for some of our key player(s) as showing financial clout and ambition. That's putting the getting the club through the (to many) financially devastating pandemic to one side.

Suggesting they see the current situation as 'a nightmare' is a little far fetched and melodramatic IMO.

Stop keep replying to his posts and just ignore him. You can't ban someone just for challenging your view. The site would be dead if that happened and the thread isn't ruined. There has been the odd poster that got on my nerves so I didn't get involved with there posts, you should try it.

Here's a radical thought. Seeing as Kels has asked you not to quote his posts, on more than one ocassion, why not just do as he asks? Pretty left field thinking I know.

It could be concerning this if, say, we approached Altrincham and basically offered him the job, and Parkinson was interested, came and learned more, met the owners, saw the budget etc and then decided nah he’s better off there. It’s less concerning if he’s one of a number of people we’ve approached for an interview, he’s taken a couple of days to think about and decided he’s happy where he is or doesn’t want to uproot his family etc. We maybe only know at all because the bookies got wind and Altrincham needed to put a statement out to end the speculation.

    We just don’t know.
    Well said Jacob.

It's all just close season speculation. Nobody knows didley-squat: the bookies, the NCM ITK brigade, the Twitterati etc etc.

We will know when the Reedtz brothers appoint somebody...
