Seems those who we have made ''tentative enquiries'' about don't seem particulaly interested, AFAICT. Difficult to make a formal offer in those circumstances.

Worth a lot, cos it's surely correct.
The names circulating around recently make you the think the first one Kim Engström wasn't so bad!!! (only kidding, but some truth in there)

Burchnall has put the Reedtz brothers in an awkward spot. IB was allowed to preside over a 'long-term project', and long-term for him turned out to be a season and a bit. Thanks a bunch..

He was indulged as well...allowed to talk about performances improving, team gelling when in reality our season hit the rocks as soon as Wright put 10-men Torquay ahead in Game 2 and we couldn't respond. He was still focussing on performance and possession as we lost 10 and drew 10 others, culminating in that ridiculous loss at Aldershot.

Now, everyone at the club knows that a NL season needs to be treated seriously from the off, and every game counts or you will soon find yourself off the pace at the top. For that, we need a different type of appointment than IB, as we can't really afford to let another long-term project manager piss about from Aug-Oct. But the NL- ready manager might not necessarily fit the long-term strategy. So not an easy appointment. But surely you have to push the boat out as far as possible to get the best man available?
Like all of us, I hoping to be pleasantly surprised in the next week or so, whichever type or profile of manger we go for.

Elite you are getting really condescending and boring constantly branding posters as “accepting mediocrity”. Isn’t this something you apparently hate about Laddo that he assumes he knows what people think and is condescending with it? Think you need to take a look in the mirror.

Statements like the one you have made only compoud the misunderstanding that the National League is a "tinpot league" when in fact it is the 5th tier of English footbal, distinguished only from the fourth tier of the EFL by the fact that it has only one automatic promotion place.

There is a core of ex-EFL clubs in the National Legue that have significantly more money and potential support than many clubs in the fourth tier of the EFL.
You're not contradicting me, look up 'chunk'. It's enough
'Tinpot' gets me thinking, a bit of tin would be useful above the head at some of the grounds to keep the pissin rain off.
Sorry, never gonna be a fan of the NL - my only wish as a supporter is to get the hell out as soon as possible.

Because that's what I'm reading a lot of the time. People who pick one of the many low points in our history and say "at least we're better than that". Better than bloody awful? Let's pop the champagne corks because Jamie Fullarton won't be our new manager (they wouldn't, would they"?) Your exact words were "What’s the point of getting agitated or being in an uncomfortable place with a situation you have absolutely no control of?" In that case, what's the point of being a football fan?

In case you missed the answer first time, I'll repeat it. It's because we fu*king care.

We all care that’s why we’re on here and at matches supporting our team. I get as frustrated as much as anyone, I felt like I had been kicked in the stomach when we lost to Grimsby and obviously that was not the first time. What I won’t do though is constantly feel down because my teams in non league, it’s not accepting mediocrity but acceptance we’re in a league with one auto spot, teams spending ridiculous amounts of money and there’s no silver bullet to get out of it.
I just don’t like your constant jibes, bring something else, like who would you want Notts to bring in specifically? It’s easy berating the owners for no ambition but no one else seems to suggest the winning formula they should adopt to get out of this league, they just say they have no ambition, don’t need a head coach and the tippy tappy footballs no good, it gets tedious if they don’t actually bring their own ideas.

But that frustration never comes across on here, you only post positives. Nothing wrong with that at all, but those who only post negatives are frequently mocked. You are both opposite sides of the same coin.

I've actually been fairly muted in the criticisms you mention, and the reason I don't suggest new mamagers / players / owner strategies etc is simply because I don't know enough. I don't have an expansive knowledge of who is available and what they are capable of, and if I did I'd probably be working in the game rather than posting on here. Although if anyone who posts a critical comment on has to have a definitive answer to that criticism, I don't think this board would last very long!

Well let's just click our heels , close our eyes and make it happen shall we?

Who on NCM doesn't want to get out of the NL?? It's about absurd as the claim that people on here accept mediocrity. Who exactly? It's totally made up by the same people who want promotion , demand a good manager, question the current approach but when asked for alternatives , and suggestions for the right manager for the job, quickly and conveniently say that's not my job I'm not the owner. They also ignore the past, the reason we are NL cos that doesn't help their constant negative narrative.

It's the close season FFS if you can't install a little positivity at this time of year when can you? At least wait for next season to start and a home draw before people hit the panic button and go all melodramatic.

You wouldn't want them in the trenches that's for sure.

On a separate note Tony Hadley still has it, what a voice, what a performer. Just seen him perform an intimate low key god tonight and he's sensational. A Ruben De Rocha Rodrigues like performance but a little bit more consistent.

How about taking a leaf out of Stockport's book and buying in a manager with success in this league? We need to see some ambition in this appointment, not another unknown.
