Sweethearts for 56 years and then his wife was terminal, in lots of pain, couldn’t walk to bed and wanted it all to end.
She was allegedly suffocated by Mr Hunter who then tried to end his own life by taking an overdose but survived. Assisted suicide has been rejected and Mr Hunter could be behind bars in Cyprus.
The man should be given a medal for trying to put his wife out of her misery FFS. For some there is no point in living to be just a shell in extreme pain!
There are easier ways to go than a pillow though!
I told you the cocktail if pills was risky Al.
When I saw the name my first thought was Crossroads
My best mate took care of business with a rope. No idea whether he'd considered the impact it would have on his partner who found him dangling from the loft hatch and supported him by the legs for ages in the slim hope he could be resuscitated. He couldn't.
No idea whether he'd considered the utter devastation his early parting left in his wake either. All I know is that we were all there for him if he'd needed us and we miss him every day. The world can feel very lonely at times.
We get a lot of these failed suicide attempts...especially with ropes and such......
We had one young guy (about 18) who actually didn't think it through properly....He tied his phone charger cord around a rail on a bridge...and then jumped over......He was dangling for a few minutes (eye witness saw event unfold from a distance) and then the cord (of course) snapped....and he fell 15 meters onto a road and got hit by an unsuspecting driver who proceeded to crash in to another vehicle...
Both drivers of the two cars were injured, one badly.....while the attempted suicide person had his pelvis smash up and into his liver and kidneys.....a mess.
A phone cord........![]()
