Too many people questioning Botman (and Ekitike) for their attitudes, simply because they haven't signed for us yet.

Toon twitter gives me a headache reading all the over reactions.

Most contracts and bonuses related to them (including release clauses etc.) Are triggered on June 30th / July 1st.

Also, most players are away on their (short) holidays, leaving all decisions to their agents etc.

If EITHER of these players had said or done anything that suggested they were not interested in the move to Newcastle, then Howe, Ashworth and probably Amanda Staveley, would all have moved on.

We will start next season with a stronger squad than we finished last season with. And all new signings will be deemed to have the correct character, work rate and ability to improve us going forward.

I promised at the end of last season, I was not going to worry about who we bought, how much they cost and when, where or why they signed.

    Trust the process!

Aye Mick, I'm not worried in the slightest.

Its all just noise at the minute-agents trying to jostle theiir player into a position where they (the agent) will get the best deal possible for themselves. Until either player comes out and says I'm not coming (in which case, no bother or hard feelings, we both move on in different directions) then knobody knows. All these shitty twitter ITKs do is stir up aggro, bad feeling and frustration when, actuually, they know the sum total of fuck all.

Fabrizio Romano (one of the more reliable sources) has tweeted this 20 minutes ago:

Newcastle are now closing on Sven Botman deal. Final proposal worth €40m with add-ons to be accepted by Lille, while contracts are being prepared. ⚪️⚫️ #NUFC

Deal at final stages - NUFC always been in the race to sign Sven Botman since January despite denials, it’s now close.
