Time for reflection on music from my far away youth.

The great Sandy Denny. Where indeed has the time gone?

Life is much too short and precious
To spend fighting wars each day
    War can't give life
It can only take it away....

Edwin Starr - War (What is it good for)

Peace, love and understanding, tell me
Is there no place for them today?
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there's got to be a better way

This thread inaugurated by Norder back in April 2019 has proved its worth many times over. I think it should have sticky status.

I'm for letting it run in its current form, we can just add a post and see the response.

I took the wife to Manchester on Monday 18 November 2024 to see the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra perform at the Bridgewater Hall.

Mesmerising is the only word I can find to describe the whole experience.

Going back to the Edwin Starr comments, the first LP I ever bought was "Agent Double 0 Soul" by the late great soulster. I also had the good fortune to see him perform live twice, the timeless classic "25 miles" still bounces around inside my napper.

My wife made the comment about the difference between classical music and the Edwin Starr Motown style stuff might be miles apart but both are wonderful to listen to.

On a personal note I still think the music of the Temptations and Marvin Gaye are the best. Motown#

Ok BT. It took me ages though to find it. Tracked it down to page 111 eventually. It was doing a Nelson.

If anyone else wants it to become a Sticky Sir Outwood let democracy prevail I say, but it's not hard to find "just another Music thread!" is it?
