So we have signed this lad ? for 200 thousand and Greg Leigh has moved from Morecambe to Ipswich on a free ? a lad we were supposedly interested in, much younger bigger and very fast and physical ? going to be interesting watching them next year or so ! let’s hope we have made the right choice ?

Giles lead the league in assists by a defender last season for Blackburn. Not a prayer in getting him back here again.

Also Greg Leigh is 27, Bramall is 26. And Leigh is 5cm taller than Bramall, not much in the grand scheme of things.

Interesting on the Sky Sports transfer centre thing. Odubajo (remember him scoring that screamer for Orient against us at Wembley) is leaving QPR. Right wing back and would be a very good signing, doubtful we could afford him mind.

2 inches is massive in most aspects, forking out a good fee for Giles could be a better investment than signing for example Morecambe's star striker ?

If isn't about forking out for Giles. Given his strong end to the season before with us and then having 10 assists as a defender for Blackburn last season there is no chance a team with more financial clout / appeal doesn't gazump us if we try and make that move. I'd love to have him back but that ain't happening.

I think Giles,who was excellent for us, is on his way to Boro,on loan.His price tag would surely be a seven figure sum,so we would have to pass on that one.

I thought signing Leigh would have been a good move, his display for Morcambe against us was top notch, I posted that his contract running out, sometime since.
