It's not the window we need to be worrying about, it's the upcoming league games, with the season being condensed, we have to complete a quarter of our league programmme by September 17, which date is just over two months away, and no one, not even Vincent, has a fecking clue what the team is going to be.
It is not speculation mon ami, it's a fact, Vinni might have ambitions and plans, but at this stage he simply CANNOT KNOW what his team will be. He might have an idea of what he would like it to be, but he doesn't know what it will be, at this stage he can't know.
Let time and nature take their course, that's precisely the problem, they will, and so much to do, so little time. In just over three weeks we kick off, then the games come thick and fast, six weeks later a quarter of the season gone. No time for bedding in, no time to experiment, straight into the serious stuff and I can't see how we are going to be ready for it. Not Vincent's fault, it is what it is, but he's been dealt a bum hand to start his Burnley career, let's hope he plays it well, or we could be in a relegation battle before the summer's over.
I'll speculate for you mon ami:
Muric,
Lowton, Long, Harwood-Bellis, Taylor,
JBG, Bastien, Cork, Knight, Twine,
Rodriguez.
We will still have a decent bench, Pace will have a few bob to clear the ALK indebtedness following the sales of Collins, Roberts, Cornet and McNeil.
Before the start of last season I hoped that there would be at least three teams worse than us, but it proved that there was not so we start this season in the championship.
My hope for this season is that there is only one team better than us, it may be a forlorn hope, however I am hoping that Vincent Kompany can pull something out of the bag that we were not expecting.
Glad to see the back of Weghorst, and hopefully he will not return. We do need to keep some of the experienced premier league player, Taylor, Collins, Roberts. I would not be to bothered to see McNeil leave if we got the right price for him.
Would like to see us boost our midfield and strikers as yet again these are areas we should have boosted over the last two seasons.
While I have to agree with Sinkov that the board were not financially supportive of the first team, I have to say that the manager and players must take responsibility for some diabolical performances on the pitch.
They can’t all leave BT , Cornet I can see and Collins if it’s a big offer , Robert’s there sniffing around coz they think they can have him cheap as we got him cheap really and Mcneil I’m still unsure about , not sure his personality lets him go elsewhere ( huge step for him ) if he went to wet spam - there’s no sulking to be done and he’s fighting for his place from the off unlike here where it was very comfortable- said all along he has the talents just in his head to sort out ( still think it’s the toon for him with Eddie if he’s wanted and he’d be more comfortable with that ).
To be fair if we did sell all four that should more or less pay the debt off or bring it down to a manageable figure and give Vincent more money to spend.
I can’t help thinking that some of our proposed deals were chasing our now getting held up by players not yet leaving us quick enough.
I think you could be right army, Vinni needs to know where we stand, if I was Pace I'd be telling the recruitment team to get all those leaving us out the door by the end of this week, even if it means we drop a couple of million here and there. Vinni has a difficult enough job as it is, the uncertainty must be killing him.
