Then you change your approach midgame and work it through the thirds with short passing or go long over the top down the middle.

Agreed, better to have that more direct approach to our game knowing full well we have the players to play theough the thirds if needs be. Last year the high press killed us in so many games so having the back 3 knowing there is an option out wide over the top rather than stubbornly going short into midfield ‘should’ hopefully reduce getting turned over in our half as happened on a number of occasions last year. That and defending at pieces let to most conceded goals. I don’t remember many games we were pulled apart by brilliant play.
Quite right Laddo, no team is going to be stupid enough to keep pushing a tactic that’s been sussed by the opposition.
From listening to LW’s interviews so far, I don’t think we’ll see hardly any change in the way we play with the ball, especially if we now have less muscle up top with Wootton gone.
The vast majority of teams sat deep against us. There will rarely be any space to play balls into.
That's absolutely fine if they do it at Meadow Lane, I hope they do sit deep. We just need to adapt our approach and style on the road.
From what I saw against Leicester I wouldn't say that. There was a lot more diagonals and a lot more clipping it forward. Agree if a team does a low block it’s the same challenge but the only real way to beat that is to try and pass them to death or beat them on 1v1s as going long rarely works.
Don't be a drama queen!!
I have a relation who informed me today, that his lad was due to sign for Notts last Friday. The deal was subject to 2 players leaving that day. Didn't happen, so he signed for a league club. Thats one way how things change. His name hasn't even been mentioned on here or anywhere else.
Notts are also paying very decent wages
Can’t stop watching this fantastic move against Leicester
