The point I was making is the erosion of civil liberties is life changing in the US, but the Yanks still refuse to tighten up gun laws, which I find all rather odd. Mandatory vaccinations for the army, abortion restrictions for pregnant women, but the yanks are still happy to allow 20 kids at a time to to be massacred by assault weapons. Does "hypocrisy" cover this?
To be honest mon ami, the abortion debate goes right over my head, I have next to no interest in it.

Is it not possible in the USA for individual states to bring in their own gun laws ? I don't know, as with abortion, it's not a subject I have much interest in, as you know, my view is that the mental state of those pulling the triggers is the real problem, and there seems to be no interest in even discussing that, never mind doing anything about it.
