Womens football team accused of not being diverse enough for having all white players…….meanwhile top earning 11 presenters on the BBC all white.

A rename might be appropriate, the Socialist Broadcasting Corporation. They must be rubbing their hands with glee having played a major role in bringing Boris down.
The best way to deal with this identity nonsense is to laugh at it and then ignore it because these idiots are never satisfied. If we bend to their demand for racial diversity, then they will say we need religious diversity, then linguistic diversity, then ***ual identity diversity and then finally, physical impairment diversity. So if we want to avoid having to recruit a bunch of one-legged, half blind, purple skinned, Swahili-speaking, Buddhist transgendered lesbians, lets just say "since the object of our sport is to have the most competitive team we can put together with the resources we have, we always recruit the best players we can find" and tell them if they don't like it, they are welcome to go into a closed, soundproof room and scream themselves to death.
The notion that a manager would ignore a player who would improve his side is utter nonsense.
It’s been interesting watching the BBC’s coverage of the World Athletic Championships.
The presenter is new to me, a bumbling fool and not even close to quality presenters of the past.
She’s the latest black woman shoehorned into a job she’s not up to.
It’s not just older white presenters being afflicted by this PC nonsense either, on SKY cricket Michael Holding has been put out to grass this summer, a quality commentator out and the Aussie dyke and our own English dyke now in full view.
I want real know how offering opinions, not box tickers.
We lost David Lloyd from the cricket this summer and the excellent Charles Colville has gone as well.
In their place we have the buffoon Charles Dagnall and these nonentity women.
I believe that there is a place for so called "positive discrimination" in as much that those individuals selected should be able to encourage others from their back-grounds (whether that be race/gender/age/disability) to participate in whatever sector (e.g. Sport) that they represent, especially if people from those backgrounds are proportionately significantly under represented. BUT they still need to be capable of doing the job and have reached a certain standard.
I dislike it when anyone is given a position they are not suitable for just as I dislike positive discrimination leading to an over-representation of minority groups -the ever increasing numbers of gay people in tv series for example. If it's a focus on them fine but if the show purports to reflect real life then I think it's been overdone. "Only Gay in the village?" Not in most of them these days David if current tv is anything to go by. ..
Of course, the LGBT+ community should be represented in the media and I believe that tv shows should generally reflect society and it's diversity more. I think it's a genuinely good thing that we are seeing more Black/Brown and ethnic characters in main roles today for example and would hope that more disabled actors might now also get more of a chance too- but they all still have to be able to act!
IMO things should be spread out evenly where possible, somewhere a little under 15% of the UK population identifies as coming from a BAME background, female are @50% and LGB about 3% therefore in an ideal world where all things are even we should see this spread loosely reflected across the media.
So very true, Sky Sports news is unwatchable due to the number of inane unknowns spouting rubbish about something they know little about
Come July my contract is up and I will be cancelling, had enough
Hate adverts but every advert now has to have a black person in it, doesn’t matter what colour you are we are all human beings, just hate this diversity crap being rammed down our throats at every opportunity
Ridiculous comment Thomas and Boingy
There is a quantifiable measure of why those people are in the 100m - the time they run
In football or broadcasting there are other factors - and some of them include personal opinions of someone
I’m not saying I agree with the sentiments of the people calling racism, but dont agree with your comparison
