Thread: Cost of Floodlighting.

    Cost of Floodlighting.

Interview today with guy from Morecambe FC. Cost of floodlighting last season £50k. Next season £100k which is 2 players wages for League 1 or 1/2 a weeks wages for 1 player some in the Prem! I didn't realise or probably more accurately hadn't thought about there is no energy price cap for businesses. Ouch!

So why not arrange for earlier kick offs on a Saturday once they clocks change.

Sunday early afternoons should be used as well and Bank Holiday matches should be early afternoons.

I think the lack of any league matches this early winter due to the World Cup will see huge increases in non league attendances which will help cover these energy rises hopefully.

They could get creative...with a discount if you bring your own torch to a game...

Don't know why clubs ,don't install solar panels on the roof of the stands.
They could generate a income selling back to the grid and cover the shop and ticket office energy usage.

Agree with this, one thing I really hate to see agricultural land with solar panels on it, we have enough industrial roof space in this country to be more than self sufficient, football stadia roofs are perfect for this as they sit above obstruction.
