    The Mirror Line Project.

Love them or hate them the Saudis know how to stretch the boundaries with construction projects.

They’re planning to build a 75 mile long, 1600 foot high structure that will feature sports stadia, retail and railway and house up to 5 million people at a cost of around 1 trillion Dollars.

Our efforts at infrastructure makes us look “Third World” in comparison.

Hopefully, less than the 6500 (estimated to be much more in reality) poor souls whose health and safety was disregarded for the Qatar World cup.

An extraordinary figure really when you think about it......
I am boycotting these games this year.
I detest how it treats human beings......and FIFA should hold it's head in shame, coming to this decision.

I was talking about their vision.

Their disgraceful work practices and low value of human life are of course to be deplored.

I believe a few got killed building the Channel Tunnel despite the safeguards we have in place in Europe?

My point was really about being visionary and daring with projects, we can’t build a public urinal without 50 layers of red tape and a bat protection order being passed.

In complete contrast a skint developing country like South Africa only suffered 2 cases of loss of life for the 2010 WC. Still 2 too many but a lot better than 6500 plus lost for this s hit show.

I think it’s easy (or easier) to be ”visionary” when you don’t have to take human lives, safety etc into account tbh. Some ”red tape etc” may very well save lives…
