My worry about freedom from Westminster is that we will be bossed about by numpties in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

And you wouldn't be better off, you'd be under the heel of an authoratarion regime and paying thru the nose for the priviledge.

Earning 50k a year wud place you in the super rich category in an independent Scotland, having a debit balance in your bank account also.

I'd take being considered one of the super rich. These people just get richer so I'd be on my way to being a millionaire.

At present a person earning over £27,000 per annum working in Scotland pays more tax than a person receiving the same salary in the rest of the U.K.
The SNP and Greens numpty MSPs who voted in favour of these tax rules have now discovered that the Scottish Government has had a shortfall in the amount of income tax they had calculated they would receive.
As far as I am aware the Westminster Government are still picking up the tab for this shortfall and giving Holyrood extra funding but that will not continue for ever.
This is possibly why Kate Forbes the Cabinet secretary for finance was greetin about a large shortfall in funding for the Scottish Government over the next five years.
This may result in no money to build a new road bridge to avoid the landslides at the Rest and be Thankful.
I could not give a stuff as we do not use the A83 at the Rest and be Thankful when we are driving to and from Dundee to Islay.

I would be grateful if you could explain why Scottish funding has been cut. I think the money going to Holyrood might have gone up in cash terms and there is the additional funding direct from Westminster for "levelling up" purposes. Could we have some facts?
