    Ticket Prices

Just watching the Fulham v Liverpool game on BT and there was a piece about ticket prices to sit in the new Riverside Stand, the upper level still being under construction.
Although the Liverpool game was sold out by mid July, I went on their website and ticket prices for the Chelsea game in September are:
    £100 for adults
    £100 for OAP’s
    17 & under £70

    Good grief.

That’s the problem. There’s no incentive to reduce the prices when lots of people are prepared to pay it.

    Supply and demand economics.

In the NFL where demand is very high due to a limited number of home games (8 per season) there are only 4 out of the 32 teams that have an average single game ticket price of under $300 (about £250).

It's an expensive area, the terraced houses by the ground go for £2 million.

Interestingly though The Jaguars have the cheapest average ticket prices in the NFL and do have some 8 game season tickets for just over $400 although like most clubs the 'typical' 8 game season ticket is closer to $3,000.
