Now we have once again discovered the ability to simply pump it up to a big boy. It should be an option not THE only option.
Bit premature re McGrath. He hasn’t played enough yet to show what he is capable off. I think sibbald has been the stand out for is in the middle of the park so far. He has a wee bit of dig about him passes the ball well and tracks back too.

McGrath and the Aussie full back are barely in the door, guys were writing off Ryan Edwards at start of his Utd career. It’s Scottish football, bit step down from -alkmar.

Going to contradict myself a bit here though, the keeper gives me the fear. First thing that struck me was his size when I saw him v killie. He was actually decent catching the ball that day, good at one on ones, quick distribution. He should have saved the livi goal, and alkmar second in my opinion, and they were shots from outside the box. And he was flapping Thursday at more than just the goal he flogged. Looks a bit of a confident character, he’s going to need to be after midweek.

It's too early for the keeper also. I think he's had a decent start and I don't think we should be too critical about Thursday. There was so much wrong that day, he got almost no protection from our defence and midfield (missing the cross was 100% his fault though).

That 3rd goal just reminded me of Kawashima, also an international keeper. Is the Aussie keeper Rakovan and Eriksson, Siegrist?

At what point of a season do we say we have seen enough.

Shouldnt players be signed fit and practiced over a number of weeks to play first. Nobody should be strangers.

I don't think after 2 league games we are there, that's for sure. 🤔

Unfortunately that's not the case with a number of ours and we knew that. We waited and signed, which most people agree, are very good players and upgrades on what we had.

Far too early to sound any panic alarms. Players will settle when they get some points on the board. There's the makings of a team there but still a couple of players short.

I don't think we can judge performances of the new boys yet.

I'd want a replacement for Smith though, too error strewn. He makes big errors that cost us dear far too often and really isnt good enough in dcefence or attack for me.

    and a striker...

Our start to the season isn't easy and we have to take something today to build a little positively going into the STM match at home for a win. Doing that will kickstart the season.

Most important for me is a defensive mid. We absolutely need someone doing the work beside Levitt. If not, we might see a few hidings this season. Celtic could quite easily do to us what AZ did.

Id say we are the solid defensive mid and a goal scorer away from a decent squad

So far in 4 games we have seen 4 different performances

    Killie (a) average
    AZ (h) excellent
    Livy (h)poor
    AZ (a) shocking

I would more worried if we had put in 4 poor performances. I think we will be alright this season but it might take time to find our groove with new players embedding.
