I understand that all Notts fans want to be out of this league asap, but the reaction to Tuesday's draw seemed negative in the extreme.
I think Gateshead will prove to be a tough place to get anything from, and although still early, Saturday's game will tell us more about how we will fare this season. Having said that, after the latest LW presser, it seems we haven't yet fielded our desired formation, and probably won't on Saturday either, so I think patience is needed at the moment, before we see the real LW's Notts. Cedwyn Scott getting Covid has set us back more than we fans have realised.

The Panic Brigade or the Called It Early Brigade?

We'll know at the end of the season.

I see that a lot of people predicted a playoff finish this season, so the Called it Early Brigade' is plentiful. I'm a signed up member on that basis.

History tells us that predicting Notts won't get promoted at the start of each season is a very safe prediction to make. It deserves no medals IMO, I certainly won't be expecting one.

It shows just how far our once great club has fallen when people say that going Gateshead will be a tough place to go. .I dont know what they would have said years ago when we were regularly visiting the likes of Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and Villa Park just to name a few..

It's all relative though isn't it? If you are a lower-half first division club going to Old Trafford it is a tough place to go. If you are a play-off level National League club going to newly promoted Gateshead on a filthy Tuesday night, that is also a tough place to go.

Those of us old enough to remember being in the top division or the second tier can't help but remember the 'good old days' but we are now in the NL. Hopefully not forever though.

And therein lies the problems with some folks perception. The days of regularly visiting Old Trafford (did we ever?? Does 3 years in a row count) are decades, a generation ago, it's just not comparable IMO.

If you compare everything back to the golden era of late 70s early 80s then the past 40 years must be absolutely miserable , long before we dropped out the football league.

If on the other hand it had been said that how far we have fallen because it wasn't too long ago that a trip to Swindon, Bradford or Stoke was viewed as a tough place to go, I fully get it.

We may not like it but we are where we are for a reason, and as such a Tuesday night away game at Gateshead is a tough game, much as when we are promoted this season, a Tuesday night away fixture at Swindon will be a tough fixture. To those of us old enough to remember the 'glory days', where we are today is hard to take, but you cannot dis an away point at Gateshead purely on the fact we once were playing Man Utd don't ya know.

Nobody should accept the current situation (I assume you mean being in the National League). Who is? Who thinks it's acceptable to lose to those teams you mentioned? I don't, even if I'm fully aware that you can't win them all and very rarely come anywhere close to it.

Are you really comparing the Notts of 2022/23 with the Notts of 1982/83?? It's 40 years chap, many a Notts fan and NCM user wasn't even born when played Man United et al in the top flight for a few seasons. Just be glad you witnessed such a great time to be a Notts fan but please don't use it as a comparable or a stick to beat the current owners/club. Try using the period around 2002/03 or 2012/13, it will definitely make you feel a lot better about the current situation instantly.

We cant let the club think that we are content to be where we are, otherwise that may well up being the case..
