Honestly, I understand. He definitely has limitations as a footballer but he would have gave us something we needed yesterday, some steel.

Our midfield is far too soft at the moment. If we are able to sign anyone else priority number one has got to be a combative midfielder.

Butcher imo was playing his best football in a Utd shirt in the heart of our defence in that spell before he killed his own career with us last season but a midfielder. Na not for me.

I know you don't rate him as a cm but he was very good there on occasion too, Sevco at home (beside Fuchs and Harkes) so would have done a job, agree he was excellent in defence during that period, beside Edwards and Graham, that three was better than when Mulgrew returned

Either way we'd be better with him in squad than we are currently, he messed it up though

Criminal goals to lose. Just seen them back there. Liam Smith needs dropped immediately. Two absolute powderpuff challenges/attempts at claiming the ball for the second and third. Wtf has Freeman done exactly?? Middleton not covering himself in much glory either.

Sure there was a post in praise of Smith yesterday,he made the new left back look adequate.

Heard a stat on the radio today that the ST Mirren striker Curtis Main scored more goals against us yesterday than he managed in the whole of last season.Having checked the stats on Wiki they are showing he is on a par with Tony Watt and managed 2 goals in 30 games. They like us were struggling like phuck for goals and lost to Airdrie and Arbroath in the League Cup.

The 2nd goal it was Levitt with the powder puff challenge. Main issue for me is the lack of pace and back and square passing. We persist in playing Watt a right footer on the left and Middleton a right footer on the left, all the opposition has to do is show them down the line, they can't cross with their wrong foot so turn and play the ball back to their full backs, who then only have two passes available, square or backwards. Play yesterday's game back and see how many times our wide players played the ball backwards giving the opposition time to get into their defensive formations, with the current set up we have nobody capable of beating a man and we don't have the ability to pass through teams. If we play wrong footed wingers they need to cut inside and let the full backs overlap, get to the byline and get decent crossed in and Fletcher will score his fair share, as will Harkes with his late runs into the box.

You're right, it was Leviit. He was piss poor yesterday aswell. He's such a confidence player, something Tam was always able to instill into him. It was no coincidence when Courts bummed him up in the papers he'd play a blinder the following game.
