If anyone is expecting massive differences in style, theyve backed the wrong horse.
The owenrs want their style, with tactics and transfers.
LW has been brought in to say 'yes' to them.
    This will not end well.
Alas I agree. My fear is that the formation and style is pre-set so we carry on regardless meaning this is as good as it gets without new WBs and a quick physical CM. LW will take the heat for our shortcomings but is powerless to properly address them.

I think Lukewarm was most prob our 3rd or 4th choice. The reason our other choices didn't want to come are 1) Having a style of footy pre-set by management, and 2) Having no control over player recruitment. 3) No-one in our recruitment team has ever played or managed at a pro level.

Regarding the playing style I can believe that the owners will have told potential managers that they want the team to play good, attractive football, and I'm sure this will feed into recruitment decisions which I believe are done on a team basis rather than being solely dictated by the Head Coach. This will be done to achieve some sort of overall continuity in the club's approach, which is fair enough having seen the damage that can be done by years of chopping and changing under previous regimes.

However, I don't think the owners would be so prescriptive as to dictate formations, or to insist that we play out from the back all the time. I think those decisions have come previously from Burchnall and now from Luke Williams. There was a clue in Williams' prickly answer to Charlie Slater's question the other day about taking risks in defensive areas, when Williams rather dismissively said his team would not be so "weak" as to just hit the ball up the field every time (which wasn't what Charlie was suggesting). It was the reaction of a coach who didn't like his methods being criticised, much the same as Burchnall, but I'm afraid he's going to have to learn to adapt fast, otherwise the reaction we saw from the crowd when we went 2-0 down yesterday won't be a one-off. The last thing we need is another Jamie Fullarton situation!

I know it's early days but we were warned that we would draw too many games under LW and it's beginning to look that way maybe. His win rate at Swindon was only just over 26% so a little worrying so far. The style of "destroying teams" as was promised hasn't shown it's face yet.

Some of us have been saying the same Plym, but as you are well aware, you get knocked, but time will tell, if not already. Some things similar to cock badger & his demands with Nolan

LW was asked about going to a flat back four y Charlie Slater in an earlier interview this season, and he didn't rule it out. We played two up top on Saturday, so that does seem to pop the balloon, that is we will only play one formation.

Why does it? Could play a 4-4-2 Diamond

    Slocombe

    Brindley
    Bajrami
    Cameron
    Chicksen

    DM - Francis

    LCM - Palmer
    RCM - Austin

    AM - Rodrigues

    Langstaff
    Scott

I'd personally like a top midfield signing but that just isn't going to happen and we'll end up with another youth player that won't do much for us. We don't need a midfielder that has to develop, we need one ready made that is box to box, we have the money, go get one

Drawing games is fine but comes with the proviso so long as they are backed up with wins. What it does mean for a club going for promotion is there is more pressure on to win games and a run of wins as well. Simply because it’s only one point for a draw.

At the moment for the optimist we are unbeaten in four. It’s a little platform for us to build on. For the pessimist it’s one win in four hence being four points behind the leaders Barnet.

It’s still very early days. In three games time we need to be on 14 points to keep on track with the 2ppg. So ideally need to win two and draw one.

So we need to win the next three games which is unlikely. I can see us drawing Halifax, probably draw Solihull if not lose and draw Dagenham mainly because we have yet again failed to fix issues we have had for years. I want to know the role Richard Montague plays as he is supposed to be head of recruitment?
