I was in the main stand and would love the opinion from someone behind the goal… was Dan’s shot that was blocked on target? I know it only tends to get counted as on target if it gets to the keeper or blocked on the line. I thought Peltier ran the defence well and McCart won most if not all of his headers.

Honestly, it was going wide. My seat looks straight down the penalty spot from high up.

Wasn't the best night of football, first half reminded me of the pre season friendly against Donny, minus any goals. Neither side seemed really up for it and we played at a tempo where we looked to be avoiding injuries. Apart from Kelly of course, who seems to enjoy headbutting opposition players' elbows!

Good to see Eaves get a run out finally, was knackered on 60 but he needs time to get up to speed. Same as Norton Cuffy.

Second half we showed more urgency as we put more pressure on and had a few moments of decent build up play. But a real lack of bite in the box.

Ferguson showed his class when he came on, great player, every ball he put in was dangerous but again, nothing on the end of it. Nice to see Kayode back too, had a penalty shout on 85, was it a genuine shout though? Didn't get a good enough view from where I was sat and the crowded box.

I'm disappointed we lost, but all the best to Morecambe they dug in well, kept on battling and scored from their one chance. Can't fault that, their plum tie last season against Tottenham was a massive boost to their coffers. They earned another plum tie tonight, as did the 190 something fans that made the away trip, so fingers crossed they get a good one.

Only McCart, the new lad and Campbell come out of that game with any real credit . Kelly and Eaves might as well have not been on the pitch for all Kellys hard work her doesn't find the areas to score goals and that was a lg1 defence .You could see the players just wanted to get through the game without getting injured piss poor and yes potentially having not had the draw yet we could be missing out on 150k + . But i will try to take some positives Eaves got some minutes as well as the new lad. No injuries and rested half the team .

Amazingly 21 Championship teams are already out of the competition.
Only 2 teams ( Burnley & Blackburn) are through. This could rise to three if Bristol City win at Wycombe later tonight.

Of the 21 teams already out by round 2 :

2 have lost to Premiership teams
4 have lost to fellow Championship teams
11 have lost to league 1 teams
4 have lost to league 2 teams

Is this because anyone can beat anyone on a given day or is it simply that Championship teams rotate their squads to give playing time to others who might not get a game in the league with the emphasis on game time as opposed to result?
I think this trophy only becomes important to Championship teams at last 16 or even last 8 stage, in the same way as many lower league teams regard the trophy we won last season.

In bygone years top teams played their full teams in this competition ( remember Arsenal at Millmoor in 1978) whereas now very few, which is not great for the fans of lower league clubs, who pay top dollar for the privilege but end up seeing effectively a reserve team in opposition?

Is it time that the League Cup was kicked into touch?

I’m not going to be too down seeing that imo they weren’t bothered so why should I (****ers) but it wouldn’t be fair on new players or them that need game time if I slaughtered them
High, Eaves and Cuffy didn’t impress me but I’m sure they will eventually, McCart did ok
Lindsay is a championship player (excuse I’m using for giving ball away)
    Peltier motm for me

    Out of the cup

I'm backing us to make up for this by reaching the 3rd round of the FA Cup 😁
