You're expecting Westminster to give us money to get started? What about our share of the national debt? I do remember the SNP threatened to renege on it in 2014![]()

Probably the maniacs would ask for
The Tory scum to lower their flags and march straight back down to England, stopping at every home to beg for forgiveness for hundreds of years of theft, rape and murder.
Do this and the Tory scum will live
Dont do it and everyone of them will die today.......probably from a boulder dropped from a flyover
Apologies to Mel Gibson.

I'd expect my state and RAF pensions to be honoured along with similar pensions accrued by all Scottish citizens. Whether that's direct from Wastemonster or by it being passed in full to Holyrood I wouldn't care.
I have no knowledge of economics so don't know anything about national debt. However if the UK can service the current level of national debt I'd expect an independent Scotland to manage its proportionate element of that with its proportionate cash raising ability.
Now to get back on the topic.
Another two Calmac ferries are currently out of action due to engine faults.
The MV Lord of the Isles which operates on the Calmac Mallaig to Lochboisdale ferry route has been withdrawn from service whilst engineers work to fix the problem.
Meanwhile the MV Hebridean Isles which operates on the Calmac Kennacraig to Islay has been out of action since 9.45am yesterday (Wednesday 24th August 2022).
Calmac engineers have tried to fix the problem with no success.
It is now reported on the Calmac website that spare parts have been ordered and the MV Hebridean Isles will be out of action until at least this Sunday 28th August 2022. https://www.calmac.co.uk/service-status

About a year ago a person posted on the Calmac Facebook page that it was Calmac policy not to carry out regular maintenance but to wait until a ferry develops a major fault and it removed from service for repairs as it was cheaper.
The post was not removed by Calmac bosses.
Too bad for the Calmac customers whose ferry sailing is cancelled as they go to the bottom of the queue for a booking on the next available sailing.
In August 2021 the MV Finlaggan developed a fault which resulted in it being removed from service for repairs.
The fault was stated on the Calmac website and according to the internet this fault would never have happened if daily maintenance had taken place.
You never read about the ferries on Northlink sailings continually breaking down and being removed from service for repairs.
This might have something to do with the company opening the Scottish Government owned Northlink ferries being a Public Limited Company whereas Calmac Ferries Limited is owned by the Scottish Government.
My car is serviced every year and if it broke down I would be asking the dealership where my car received its annual service why this has happened.
There is never any mention of Calmac bosses contacting the Company (s) where their ferries receive their annual overhaul why these ferries are breaking down during the rest of the year.
