That save was amazing as it was hit with some power. Would have been a huge momentum shift so soon after we scored

Agree, the front 3 really set the tone with pressing from the front.

Austin especially has such energy and is dangerous on the ball too.

To be honest if we had to have either Burch or Ardley back, I'd rather have Burch, it's FGR's chairman that I really can't stand but it could well turn out to be the case that Burch will ruin his career moving there whilst Ardley ultimately re-establishes himself in the EFL.
Had Burchnall had some success with Notts, it wouldn't have been such an issue but to effectively fail with Notts, then leave and fail with FGR if he does would probably put an end to his hopes of any career progression. His record in Scandinavia wasn't amazing either. He'll probably end up as a coach higher up in the pyramid but probably not be a head coach for a long while

I wasn't impressed tbh. Looked clumsy on the ball and gave the ball away for the goal.

Maybe a bit harsh as it was his debut but that's what i saw

They are the facts. Rather than "doing a great job", I'd say he "met minimum expectations".

Good win without looking that good, until the goal we were arguably second best but not by much. Langstaff just gives you a chance if we stay in it. Last season we threw points away by not killing games off now we've got a player who can change the game in a split second out of the blue when we're not dominating the game.
Never thought he was going to miss his second even though he had a fair bit to do and the time to over think and blow it. Natural finisher. Mitchell took his well too, thought he should have passed to Austin but fair play, he backed himself and scored.
***** save from Slocombe, all in all a good day.

I could go with "Did a half decent job in the circumstances". How he does at FGR will be informative as to whether or not he was as big a mistake for Notts as some people think, or if he was actually a very good coach hobbled by the set up here. I'm quite fascinated to see how he does there and I'm assuming that Swale is the only mod for this forum and that I don't need permission from certain posters to comment on the situation.

I hope so. I don't care greatly whether Burchnall fails or succeeds, but I'm still interested to know if it's one or the other. Just like I'll be interested to know how such as Kyle Wootton and Cal Roberts get on after leaving us. One poster whining about mentioning them means nothing, so carry on for me because I feel the same. I'll watch the FGR scores with more interest than I usually would.

This. IBs method of departure left a bad taste in my mouth with the meeting with Dale before the playoff game. I will always be interested to see how he does and if his methods transfer up the leagues. He might be hampered though at FGR with his squad relative to the others in that league but I want to see if he can punch above his weight.

I can understand the interest. It's most unusual and a bit of novelty to see players and coaches moving up to a higher level and testing themselves. It's usually been the opposite and players have gone further down after leaving Notts.

Obviously it would be far better if the club moved up a level as well.
