For some reason I find myself humming the Jack Wilson ad from the early days of 290 MW Northsound. Then again, I often break into a chorus of “Ellis and McHardy….yer local source of warmth”, “Pop into Fraser’s of Ellon”, “For toys and gifts and stationery, the buggest small shop on the Dee, it’s Allan’s of Banchory” or indeed the station’s invite to listen, “From Inverurie, Banchory, Oldmeldrum and Stonehaven, From Peterhead, Aberdeen, with Ellon in between, we want to make you all aware that here on 290, it’s your very own radio show”.
In endless time
In endless art

Free whisky tooties at St Andrews woolen mill.
Although it’s the government information adverts that are stuck forever in my mind.
Finish the following sayings
1/ a brick a bolt a bar a cup
2/ Polish a floor and put a rug on it?
3/ I wish, I wish I didn’t keep losing my birds
1/ a brick a bolt a bar a cup ... invariably fall down, not up.
2/ Polish a floor and put a rug on it? You might as well set a man trap!
3/ I wish, I wish I didn’t keep losing my birds. Then learn to swim young man, learn to swim.
Trivia question .... 'What IS he doing with those candlesticks?![]()
