Have spent £147million on new players. I’ve heard West Brom fans thinking we’ve spent a lot on players (a few) seriously. This is what you spend when you have ambition.
At least their owners are giving Forest a chance. We get relegation battles and spend enough for one decent player but spread it over half a dozen cheap buys.
A dangerous tactic in my opinion.
What about last seasons collective spirit?
You can’t manufacture team spirit and work ethic, if things start going south the wheels will quickly fall off.
Once you then go down all that was built during promotion is gone.
They had a lovely side last season, adding four or five absolutely top players including two proven scorers is always prudent but not this madness.
They’ve just made their 18th signing of the season….18th!
It’s well beyond ambitious and just downright irresponsible. Not only are they not playing the players who got them up but also the ones they have signed! How are they really going to make that work?
From our perspective, we haven’t spent loads but there are plenty of clubs that have behaved sustainably and been managed better than us. Brighton and Southampton come to mind.
It’s not how much we’ve spent it’s who we’ve bought. Whoever signed off the signings of Burke for £15m and Zohore for £8m needs removing from the game. If we bought in good players for that money we’d be in a different position now.
I don’t agree. We show no ambition at all. Forest were not very good at all last season. They have some quality players now. They have a chance.
I agree Boingy! Regardless - at least they are having a go! More than can be said about our rag tag squad to which the pay roll will be lower than last season with players out v players in!
Bruce said there will be a big overhaul but where is it? We will be lucky to score the same amount of goals as last season without a recognised striker!
If the truly have signed 18 players this season then that does smack of restlessness. Anyhow, it's not how much money you spend, it's about whether they are worth it (how much did we squander on Zahorse?). Of course, there aren't many diamonds in the rough to discover out there so you do need to spend money for decent players but Mick makes a good point about teambuilding and think how long it took even Man City to get their group of players working and performing as a team.
Still, might just be jealously I suppose..😁
