Completely agree - that was a shocker. I appreciate he wants to score to keep up the pressure for a first XI start, but he could have had an assist and put the game to bed. I bet Ruben was mightily peeved.

    Ruben was fuming haha.

To be fair to Kairo, though, and a great sign of how the players are feeling at the minute, he knew he should’ve passed and worked really hard to put it right. Won us three or four free-kicks in the last few minutes chasing down balls he had no right to get to, and helped us see out the game a lot more comfortably than it could’ve been.

Christ this is hard work. They’re different strikers but you can still compare their relative value to the team. For example I’m pretty sure we’d have drawn 0-0 at Halifax or even lost with Wootton up top. Similarly Chicksen was unmarked yesterday because they were so preoccupied with Langstaff. Which would you rather have in the team? Which do you think other teams would rather face? The point is that Charlie/Stall sometimes go overboard in their praise of players, as do all local journalists. Wootton wasn’t nearly as good as they made out.

If Williams accepts that he often doesn’t need 2 defensive midfielders I suspect it’ll be Palmer sitting on the bench, and Austin will be starting.

I’ve been really impressed with him so far this season, looks like he has bulked up too. He could have easily bottled that challenge on the half way line but he took one for the team as he was always going to get clattered.

Not sure where the BBC get some of these interviewers from - the one that interviewed Ardley was pathetically poor

I'd assumed he was a club staff member from SM! If that was a BBC interviewer it was shocking.

He was an annoying little ****. Why these interviewers (he's not the only one) go in trying to show off how much they understand about tactics is like watching a car crash in slow motion. Just simply ask the questions not pose the answers, eg "How would you sum up today's game?".

Problem for NA is that he knows he's being recorded.
