Under current circumstances I don’t think this is a bad thing, he is experienced always seemed decent and is a step up from Bartley!

The words Gareth McAuley spring to mind. Came to us at age 32 from a lower division. So this is not necessarily a bad move at all. Strengthens the back line, gives us more depth in that position, a very experienced player, and probably still plenty of fuel in the tank. I think at the very least its a decent purchase.
