I’m sure he is underneath but he doesn’t seem buzzing after a such a great result! Credit to LW, sounds like he has got the players on board with his ideas and is starting to reap some rewards.
The Ruben situation sounds pretty amicable and that there is an understanding in place regarding his future which is fair enough. Was surprised to read we have exactly the same record as last season, this feels different to that though…when was the last time we really dominated teams?
For those that have seen the last few games what has been the difference since we played Chesterfield and gateshead? Were chesterfield just much better than the teams we have faced since or have we really upped our game?
Well that was wonderful.
25/1 for top scorer each way??? Don't mind if I do.
Enjoy your Saturday evenings my fellow Pies![]()
For me it's like night and day compared to last season. Under Burchnall we allowed other teams to play and didn't appear to have the energy to make them work hard. We now have a completely different approach which seems to be paying off. It's also exactly what I've seen in the teams that have won the division.
Fantastic result today, even though we’ve played so well last couple of games I didn’t see that result coming at a, usually, very tough place to play. Keep that up and we are definitely in with a shout. Next 2 homes games very winnable and then 2 away against promoted Dorking and York - it wouldn’t be unreasonable to hope for 12 points from those four, but would take 10. Looking forward to making the Aldershot and York games - going to the latter with a mate who’s a York fan so hope we don’t fall on our ars es in that one.
Whist we might have the same record as last season so far it's extremely encouraging and promising that we have the potential to be better than what we were away from home compared to last season. Especially after today's result and winning two games in a row away from home. That's where we lacked that ruthlessness, grit and determination needed to finish the job on the road last season and why Stockport got automatically promoted.
Many teams that win titles have a couple of five-six game winning streaks. We've built a good foundation to the start of the season and are averaging 2.14 ppg and have won three in a row. With two home games in a row coming up we've put ourselves in a good position to win those two.
We have to push Chesterfield and Wrexham all the way.
