If you think you know better than Ardley and Dave Challinor you're delusional.

Wootton was a decent player but he missed far too many chances that Langstaff and Scott are currently putting away. His off the ball work was decent but on current form, we aren't missing it

We aren't missing him because we've bought two good replacements but that doesn't negate his record for us over three seasons. Calling him a donkey is just plain insulting to a player I'd hope would get a great round of applause if he comes to Meadow Lane.

We've effectively got two excellent strikers for the loss of one, which must been seen as good business. I don't think the value of Cedwyn Scott has been fully appreciated yet because of his illness-affected start to the season and the eye-catching brilliance of Macauley Langstaff, but its good that we haven't got our (goalscoring) eggs all in one basket.

Agreed. I wasn't that disappointed when he left, but to have scored 19 last season in the role he was being asked to play says to me that he certainly wasn't a donkey. Yes, he missed chances, but I wish him well now.

More importantly it's worked out to buy younger progressive players which attract attention from teams in higher leagues which can and will lead to player sales for actual cash.

Is anyone seriously still claiming that the recruitment hasn't improved markedly at Notts?

Many do , it's seemingly a fans prerogative. It's a ridiculous statement tbh, and probably best ignored if made again.

To be fair, Langstaff was apparently persuaded to join because the recruitment team had done their homework by studying videos as to how he would fit in to our style of play and feed off the service.

That wasn't the point being made though, it was about stats and the division he was playing in.

Just seen the highlights. Haha no one can accuse us of not scoring scrappy goals anymore..
