Nice to see the wing backs getting more involved in an attacking sense. Goals & assists probably higher than last season already!

Swap journeymen for punts on players who won’t make it as regular players in the team in this league. A player can only be classed as successful if we achieve something (ie promotion) then you can sell on, at the moment we are still in this league, if you get rid before you’ve achieved you’ve lost an asset that could achieve the aim. You get rid and the circle starts again and your no better off.

Cal Roberts? Surely he has to be seen as a success, regardless of the fact we did not get promoted

Some great memories Cal left us with, but it just highlights the deficiencies in other recruitment areas. Also (these are estimates) I’m guessing Cal was here 3 years? I don’t know what we got for him but if you divide 3 years wages into that did we make anything? Considering he spent a lot of time out injured (unproductive) was he a success?

If a player is bought for £12k and sold for £168k whilst contributing a high number of goals/assist whilst playing, I'd say as an isolated signing that was a success.

Now the transfer window is done I will be intrigued to see how we utilise the loan market of EFL players.
What would we spend it on, though? No point signing players for the sake of it, and we’ve already got three players who’ve started the season well in Austin, Bajrami and Mitchell who can’t get in the team, along with one of our other summer signings.

I’d have liked to see a midfielder until a couple of weeks ago, but the emergence of Bajrami as an option in that position has made that less of a pressing issue.

Might as well keep it in the bank for later in the season when injuries start to hit or a problem position crops up, benefit of not having a transfer window.

A Mick Waitt special. Garry Lund was slow but by god he was a tidy forward. Lets see how he does at Stockport. My guess he will be back in the NL
It doesn't matter what he does at Stockport he did ok for us. Yes Langstaffe is much better but to call him a donkey is ridiculous.

Are they the accurate figures for Roberts?

If I think he was a donkey, then he was a donkey. That's my opinion of him, didn't rate him. Your entitled to yours of him.
