Indeed they are. Without differing opinions not only would this board be dull, but so would life.

Some people even thought Stanley Aborah was a football genius.

Turned into a decent discussion again now, despite a certain poster's best efforts to shut it down. At least it wasn't Banjo this time.

I don't think the games should have been called off on Saturday, regardless of any fans reactions, but I would almost stake my life on their being a non respectful response from the Liverpool fans, even matching the despicable chants at one of the Irish Premier League games on Friday. Which was 'In a box, in a box, Lizzy's in a box, to the tune of Give it up give it up by KC and the Sunshine Band.
I suppose as a supporter of free speech I would have to say it is ok for that to be sung, but it would highlight what type of people were singing it.

If I had to put money on it, I'd bet on Liverpool breaking into a chorus of "You'll Never Walk Alone", then they can be defended as paying tribute in their own way (which will be genuine in some cases) rather than ignoring the silence to show support for their own team and not the queen (which will be the intention of others).

I was almost tempted (but not quite) to do a laddo style "what a great thread this is". Instead, I'll say "what a typically NCM thread this is".

It's mostly about the game being off (we won 2-1 on my score prediction), but meandering into a discussion about music genres with a bit of cricket and horse racing thrown in. Add to that some strong differences of opinion without bothering Swale, and love it or loathe it it's the sort of thing that keeps the board going.

I only just managed to stop myself posting #viva.

I'm thinking particularly of the St Leger at Doncaster, where her majesty enjoyed one of her biggest highlights as an owner/breeder when in 1977 Dunfermline followed up her Oaks win with a St Leger win. That was also in the the queen's silver jubilee year, so it must have been extra special. She more than most would appreciate the time and effort taken to produce a racehorse in peak condition on the day, so I would be amazed if she supported any postponement.

The FA have got this horribly wrong. What would have been heartfelt appreciation by the vast majority has turned into nothing at all.
Absolutely agree they got it wrong. But if it was because of the way two teams might act, ridiculous.

Why would it reflect badly on the FA? I thought that at all games until the funeral, there is going to be a minute's silence (or applause). So what happens when Liverpool play away at Chelsea next Sunday? Unless of course it is postponed due to police resources.

Absolutely get that people have a choice, but if this story is true, the whole of football is under the control of 1 or 2 clubs. So wrong.

There's nowhere near enough actual Notts or football talk, and a little too much political comment for my liking.

Saying that for a certain section of NCM, and with a claim of "complete and utter b*llocks", being posted it's very much #viva , so you definitely should have lol.

The key bit there is "for my liking". What you like obviously isn't what everyone likes.

Let the board go in whatever direction it's posters take it.

That's good to hear, because it's not always been the case.
