Could any of you seriously expect him to turn down the job at Derby to stay at Rotherham? Really? Come on guys, football isn’t like that, you take your opportunities when they come and this is a massive one for him. Everybody expected the Millers to be among the relegation fighters and if you’d have been struggling again, many of you would have been shouting for him to be replaced. It could be a great or terrible time for him at Derby, time will tell but even if he fails he’ll walk into another job in L1 or L2 because he’s proved he can get teams out. Now Rotherham have the opportunity to bring in a coach more seasoned with the Championship to keep you there so it may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. You still have a decent squad and have made a good start so I don’t think you’ll be short of quality replacements. Good luck with it anyway, it’s not easy losing a manager who’s done well but we’ve all been there and sometimes it turns out surprisingly well. Stay positive.
