Yes, he may have contacts offering him players & yes he may have a more direct route to a player than the recruitment team (Levitt for example), but I don't believe he is signing guys without the managers say so.

Happy to give him credit for signing guys like Levitt & McGrath as it is his selling of the club that plays probably the largest part in convincing them to sign. Is he to blame for the GK situation? I have no idea. I doubt it. Look at the signing of Niskanen for example. A player our recruitment team had tracked for years. A signing based on data. This could easily have been the case for the GK's and that is the responsibility of the recruitment team, not TA. It's far too easy to blame him for our poorer signings. Every club makes poor signings. We've been it doing long before TA was in place. Then it was primarily down to the manager. These days, with the way football player recruitment works, it's a collective thing rather than one man's decision.
I'd say that both the Aussie lads and the African lads had nothing to do with the managers of our team but down to Fat Tone's connections and if like you say that we tracked Niskanen for years then he also wasn't down to a specific manager.

I'd say that Edwards was an MM signing and maybe Sibbald is a JR signing but the rest are down to Fat Tone - good or bad.

For me Fat Tone has too much of a say in running/overseeing ALL aspects of the club but is too much of a narcissist to delegate certain sections of it out to others who actually know what they are doing . This is evident with all the resignations in the hospitality sector in the last few years with even volunteers having binned it and the subsequent shambles that hospitality has become(I sit in the next section along from hospo and can see how empty it is).

I actually don't know what his strengths are job wise but it certainly isn't in man management and going by what the Boat posted yesterday re the display guys mustering 400 fans for the Shed v the sheep( which I know for a fact is true as one of them asked if anyone wanted to sit in the shed on our aways bus's WhatsApp group)then it it won't be fan relations.

Fat Tone quite rightly should be judged by us on performance just like our players and managers and for me he just ain't cutting it imo, he's just not a likeable guy.

The hospitality had been run by an external company at Tannadice for years. Only this season has it come in-house so, to be honest, I'd expect some sort of issues. Any problems with staff before then had less to do with United and more the this party surely?

With the exception of the defensive midfield and goalkeeper issue i think we have a pretty decent team. The Aussie goalkeeper looked like a great signing on paper so its sad it hasn't worked out. Most agreed that players such as Sibald and Middleton were Ross signings and the Sibald one was a massive mistake as he is not fit enough to play and we need him to play if not we needed a defensive midfielder. Many fans keep saying we are going for the cheap option forna manager but then we are spending too much money so which one is it?

Regarding Butcher he probably received a pay off because he was still under contract surely?

Its just becoming tiresome to hear constant rumours when we there is absolutely no way they can all be true. Think ill take a breather from this board for a while and try to enjoy following my team as keeper aside things are starting to look better on the park.

I'm not meaning the folk that serve food and drinks but folk like the lad that volunteered for more than 20 years, Gordon Grady and Paul Reid all had their parts to play at hospo on match day and are no longer at the club.

Thing is, I don't care how likable or unlikeable he is, he was brought in with MO, that saved us from a very poor outcome as a club as we were in a poor way, a shambles stuck in the second tier, dwindling crowds, clown manager, pumped by qots, morton and falkirk, with the fun a league above with some decent players (kamara, jack hendry etc) things looked grim all round (cue agenc mac and the pundit), short memories on here though

They overseen a huge upturn on and off the park, I'm very thankful to Ogren, he deserves nothing but respect from our fanbase, TA is who he wants to lead the club, I respect that and will back it fully, especially as we've had four years of progress from championship to 4th, knowing American mentality they must be wondering what is with the perpetual negativity they are seeing in our support after the four years

Imo Ross failed at his job and completely derailed us, he wasn't the right choice or right fit, not fully committed either with regards days he was coming up, the previous appointments did work well and met their objectives, now Fox is tasked getting us back on track, early signs are promising

Can't wait for the busy October we have
I did go on to say that it was tongue in cheek. TTT did comment that an emoji might have helped. 😊

I've no problem with Mark Ogren,it's his underling that I and many others have a problem with.

Fat Tone has undermined our display teams efforts to get a significant amount of fans in the Shed so not to give it to the Sheep and they succeeded but ye fk them.......you love a few hundred in the Shed so have you not got something to say about this? He's more or less fkd these guys over, the same guys that put their own time and effort into putting on these excellent displays that we all appreciate. What a pap.

Shedka backs the decision to fill Shed with Sheep and our die hards getting phucked about by his hero.Spew.He has never invested a thin dime in our club but has taken a sizeable amount out.

Imagine what fans of other clubs are thinking about DUFC at the moment? We are a laughing stock. Down here, West Ham, Spurs, Arsenal and Bristol City and Rovers fans etc. are all asking me about the state of our club. I've been in this town for 20+ years and anyone who knows me also know how passionate I am about United (quite often go out wearing United t-shirts, polo shirts etc.). I've nagged them into getting it right when they ask about "Dundee", pointing out that we are United. My friends and acquaintances look out for United's results (as I do their teams) and news on the internet. We are a phucking shambles at the moment.

I'm not overly excited about Liam Fox but I hope he turns out to be the man for the job for the sake of our club. It would be great to see/hear/read positive football news coming out of Tannadice.
