One common form of disproportionate attack is to stigmatise the target. It is a quick and easy means to acquire justification for our rhetoric/position. Yet it is cheap, generally groundless and wrong, but it is effective in gathering support from the weak minded amongst us, often relegating truth to the base level of inconvenience. Those using the tactic and haven't we all at some time or another, are egotistically elevated.
The argument also works in reverse, his supporters who defend him to the same lengths of Thompson Junior dismiss every bad word spoken and use the auld,"Its because he was a policeman and a Hun that fans have an agenda against him."
My personal opinion is he's a divisive abrasive character who does not care who he upsets as long as its not the Ogren's.I also firmly believe if the Ogren's lived in Dundee he would have been punted ages ago.
NDA's work both ways, Butcher, Mellon, Ross and others will also be relieved that certain things that went on remains hush.
I've no time for whispers, all's I'm interested in is competing on the pitch, which Fox needs to prioritise starting with St J.
I have no issues with TA as a person. But then I don't want a seat in the Shed or go to Hospo etc etc.
My concern with TA is his lack of experience.
I've felt for a long time that he has applied a learned template (I call it the Man City manual on here)
Would I be right in saying he was an agent at one point and while that's a good way to learn about players it doesn't give you an eye for a player, it makes you aware of commissions, fees and sell on value. A Sporting Director can be easily changed but I doubt Ogren has the motivation to make that change. But I do wonder if he has private doubts as TA continues to spend his money like a lottery winner.
I think TA's created a culture of elitism, not something I associate with our club. Elitism can breed arrogance and arrogance breeds what may have happened with Ross.
This idea that every signed player has to be an International (some exceptions) is so stupid it's very stupid.
St Johnstone won two cups by fitting ordinary players into a well coached and well drilled side. It seems we're trying to do something that we're just not capable of.
If Fox can get us playing better football we'll definitely get better results. But lose to St Johnstone and the fans have a full week to stew until the Sheep arrive.
If we can recover a bit by Christmas and get a Defensive Mid into the club early doors January maybe we'll be ok, but again TA has to take responsibility for some very poor decisions as well as the good ones.
