Last time I was in Amman I went to see the largest of the Palestinian refugee camps, with an influx of refugees from four regional wars in just 70 years and a lack of water and other resources, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and its people face many challenges.

Millions of refugees from different conflicts currently live in Jordan. The country has more than two million Palestinian refugees registered with UNRWA, and about 655,000 Syrian refugees of Palestinian origin registered with UNHCR.

I'm amazed the Israeli athletes had the audacity to even turn up. Perhaps if they could oppose the IDF constantly bombing the incarcerated civilian population of Gaza they might get the chance to compete next time.

So it is all Israel’s fault is it? I suspect the Syrian refugees are there as a result of Bashad’s genocide, rather than any Israeli aggression.

Millions of refugees in Jordan from different conflicts - all Israeli inspired? Did the Jordanians turn away athletes from any other countries?

It's called anti-semitism Swiss, it's still rife, it won't go away.

I agree sinkov. It is sad that there are so many intelligent people that are anti-Semitic. I am not saying that Israel is innocent of all things.

However, the fact that Britain is governed by idiots does not mean that all Brits are idiots. Similarly with Jewish people.

Gaza is under siege, trapped in a pincer like grip by the IDF and the hostile Egyptian military junta and a few Israeli athletes think they can just turn up in Jordan and swim, run and cycle like nothing is wrong. Beggars' belief, it really does...
