Yes of course this is a serious problem for the NHS, they can't discharge older patients because the Care Sector can't take them. This is the inevitable outcome of the decision to sack 40,000 care workers who refused to be vaccinated. The Tory government, the Labour and LibDem opposition and the media, including and especially the BBC, insisted this was the right thing to do, as Care Home residents had to be protected and vaxxed care workers would be protected themselves and therefore would not/could not pass the virus on to the residents.

All well and good, except that, even at the time they were being sacked, it was acknowledged that the vaccine did not prevent infection or transmission. So god alone knows why they were sacked, for no good reason that is certain, and as a result the care sector and NHS is now in crisis.

To get back to the beginning, what made me smile in the Grauniad piece, is the fact that, despite several reasons being proffered for the shortage of care workers, the main reason, that 40,000 were sacked off for no good reason less than a year ago, is nowhere mentioned in the piece, it's as though it never happened. Lefties re-writing history again, as well they might in this case, the Grauniad was one of the most vociferous in demanding that non-vaxxed care workers were sacked. Now they pretend it never happened, move along please, nothing to see hear.
When did the Guardian ever dictate Tory party policy mon ami? Get a grip, this shower of $hit are perilous. If ever a government handling of a major crisis was beyond inept - look no further than to your lot. Starmer is a w@nker so there's no point in constantly harping on about him.

I'm not whinging about the Grauniad mon ami, I'm laughing at it. This is a Grauniad headline from last November

"Care homes in England set to lose 50,000 staff as Covid vaccine becomes mandatory"

Now when they analyse the crisis, they do all the usual tedious Lefty whinging about Tories, spending cuts etc. but nowhere do they mention 50,000 care workers sacked because of the vaccine mandate, which they fully supported and approved of. Beats the Beano any day of the week.

Credit where it's due BT, the Grauniad wanted the 45% tax rate re-instated, they've re-instated it, the Grauniad wants the NI Protocol left in place untouched, Truss was going to sort it out and no mistake, the latest word is that she's backing off on that as well, Fracking has got the green light from government apparently, the Grauniad opposes fracking, the Grauniad will get it's way, there will be no fracking. In fact so confident am I that no fracked gas will make it's way into our gas pipelines, that if it ever does, let me know immediately and I'll make my way to the nearest Burton's and display my bottom in it's biggest window. Once again mon ami you are wrong, it looks very much to me like the Grauniad is dictating Tory Party policy. You don't believe me ? Didn't the Grauniad want Boris out of No 10 ? And haven't those nice Tory MPs just done the Grauniad's bidding and got shut of him ?

sinkov, it's obviously the way of the world and where 'they' want things to go.
Left wing is obviously ruling the roost over here, Brasil looks as though it could go the same way, various other countries are also on the verge.
Worry not, if there is a left wing takeover, all will be well in the world because, as you are aware, they have the answer to all the problems which exist. Utopia beckons!

It always bemuses me Sub that lefties like BT seem to think we're being run by a right-wing government. In reality there has been no change of government since 1997, we've had New Labour in different guises ever since. Can you think of one New Labour policy that has been reversed since 2010 ? I can't.

Remind me which political party ran the "pandemic" $hitfest please mon ami. Quasi Modo is like you, he actually blamed Labour yesterday for the most recent Tory $hitfest.

Three weeks in power and the Truss/Quasi combo has brought this country to its f&cking knees and the best you can come up with is the "usual tedious Lefty whinging about Tories".

The thing that interests me most BT about yourself and the lefties is , they never seem to have a viable idea / solution themselves only a dig and criticism of others ( all politics I suppose )

Why can’t starmer actually say as a party we’ve discussed this and we feel this idea is more viable for the country, instead of just shouting across the floor of the commons.

The more I’ve watched them in the last few months ( all parties ) the more I realise they are adults with children mind sets talking absolute nonsense, there is nothing with any structure or leadership , just a room full of children bickering to see who can shout loudest , each one like the kid at school with his / her hand up for a moment of fame ( the class clown ) desperate for attention.

I’m afraid I’m really losing interest in all of it , what I will say though is that we’ve had 3 years of upheaval- lockdowns - Grants - loans to keep businesses going - all that forgotten now and the public are wandering why we are in it up to our necks - as I’ve said many times there is only one pot of money and it has to come from somewhere.
All of the debacle now is a knock
On effect of the above including the NHS which we discovered in lockdown can’t cope and needs extra funding and thousands more staff , it’s a haemorrhage that won’t get fixed - who’s asking where the monies going and how it’s used ?

Our generations are just by/standers watching all this un fold - my grandchildrens futures are the real worry imo anyway - as I can’t see an end to this debacle anytime soon.

And breath army88. Political will is all that is required to reshape things.

Now that Joe Public is waking up to the fact that our mainly corrupt Cabinet full of Conservative and Unionist cretins and losers led by a blonde-haired, grinning, smirking, clueless female clown impersonator aided and abetted by her half-wit Chancellor are in charge of this $hitfest they will vote with their feet.

The so-called "Red Wall" MPs are crapping themselves because they know the dole queue awaits. The Tory party are survivors they will chase Truss and Quasi off down the road, regroup and try and steal the next election - mark my words they will cling to power by any seismic shift in policy they can muster to appeal to the Great British Voter.

What's that you were saying about adults with children mind sets bickering and shouting nonsense at each other Army ? The above is what passes for reasoned political debate on the Left these days. People with this infantile mindset are going to be running the country soon, God help us.
