In all honesty, I dinna recall tickets being an issue before Liverpool.
A lot of folk were in supporters clubs and they always got the full allocation, that's where I got all my tickets.
Liverpool they just messed up really bad, TBH it was probably the biggest demand for tickets ever up until that point
You're right, vouchers came in on the back of this.
I was in the same boat, I always had heaps if spare vouchers as I got tickets through the SC.

in the summer of 71 which reduced the capacity. The first game in front of those benches was the 71 Drybrough Cup final. That was attended by Michael Stipe, according to Watty Feugh, and so impressed was he with the Brush’s opening goal that he went back to Athens, Georgia and named his band after Robb’s Elegant Manoeuvre. A mere 25000 at that one.
