Smaller clubs like ours can make it big,there are other examples, but...they usually spend big to do it.
In the last 20 years or so,the likes of Barnsley Blackpool, Reading, Wigan, Portsmouth, Bolton, etc,have all managed it.
I honestly think that with a good manager,some astute signings, and a chunk of luck we could make the top 6.
Sadly our best chance of this is now working elsewhere.

Going & watch Derby then! You know I wasn't a Warney fan. Glad he's gone. Matty Taylor gets my support. Top 6 no chance after this summers transfer window. Going to take a while to move players on new manager doesn't want here & get players in he does. If he keeps us up that's job done this season.

It might surprise many on here but I actually liked Warne as our manager, he was a good fit for our circumstances

Only from what I've been told. Way out as in. That's the top wage. The AVG would be closer to 4k...
I was told last season ladapo, Smith and Harding were the top earners on £3800 ish...promotion prob got them a 25% bonus (if still hear)

If that is the case, our yearly wage bill based on an average 4k a week for a squad of 24, would be less than 5 million.So we have quite a bit of scope to improve certain players' contracts,knowing that the 7 million we receive from the EFL to offset increased wages leaves us with at least 2 millon to spend on futher improvement of the squad.

The way we are playing just now we would not get in the top 6 in league1.
