Oh, I almost forgot. The disbelievers of the manned Apollo Moon landings say, truthfully, that since the last of these missions in 1972 nobody has done a manned mission that has reached the Kuiper Belt. You could actually believe that the likes of NASA always knew that nobody can survive travelling through the Kuiper Belt radiation, which would prove the manned Moon landings to be a hoax. Perhaps the problem is being worked on but not yet solved.

Another topic mentioned by the disbelievers is that when the pole with the American flag had been thrust into the surface of the Moon the flag fluttered. There is no atmosphere on the Moon, no air, no wind so it should not have fluttered. You could almost believe that it was on Earth.

On the internet there are numerous web sites set up by people who do not believe in the manned Moon landings and also sites set up by people to counter these points.

The Kuiper belt is beyond, far beyond the orbit of Pluto, no manned mission could ever reach it. There is an explanation for the flag fluttering, i cant recall what it was.

As for the Lancaster, it was hit by a beam, kidnapped, by aliens and brought into space. They thought the oxygen equipment would keep the crew alive. They couldnt control the plane, it skewed around, eventually crashing on the moon.

It is in a gully, it cannot be seen from space unless you look carefully. It is there, with a camp fire beside it. A crew member survived long enough to make some tea.

Your very name 6eq, is the log number of a transmission from an alien race intercepted in space.

    How ironic.

    Well spotted , Pike.
The actual name for that belt of radiation that is 3,000 km (1,860 miles) from the surface of Earth is the Van Allen Belt. The people who believe that the manned Moon landings were fake go big on this, believing that nobody in a craft passing through this belt of radiation could survive. We have to believe that every one of the 6 Moon landing missions passed through this belt of radiation once on the way to the Moon and again when coming back to Earth. It is true that since the last of the manned Moon landing missions occurred in 1972 there have been no manned craft that have been sent as far as the Van Allen Belt of radiation. To a disbeliever in the manned Moon landings this is extremely suspicious.

I cannot believe that they carried tea on a Lancaster Bomber. The rest of that makes perfect sense.

No that is totally wrong. 6EQUJ5 is an expression of the signal to noise ratio of something that occurred in the radio spectrum in 1977 during its period of 72 seconds. Each of the characters represents a moment in time of that 72 seconds. Each character represents the intensity of the signal at that moment in time. The range of intensity is 1 to 9 and for higher intensity than that it is A to Z.

It could have been a transmission from an alien race. But it is famous merely for the temporary excitement at the time and the bloke writing "Wow" on the fanfold paper on which it was printed. The best radio telescopes have been set to the co-ordinates of where it came from. It has never been repeated. It is dismissed in real science.

SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence), Hat Creek / Mountain View, California say that they get at least a dozen signals of similar calibre to the "Wow" 6EQUJ5 each year. They dismiss them. They monitor millions of concurrent radio frequencies 24/7/365 and their software carries out numerous tests on signals in real time. A signal has to pass all these tests in order that it is even looked into by anyone. Nature does make some signals in the radio spectrum and the SETI real time tests rule these out.

The "Wow" 6EQUJ5 signal was received by the Ohio State University's Big Ear radio telescope overnight in 1977 when nobody was monitoring it. Astronomer Jerry R. Ehman discovered the anomaly a few days later while reviewing the recorded data. He was so impressed by the result that he circled on the computer printout the reading of the signal's intensity, "6EQUJ5", and wrote the comment "Wow!" beside it, leading to the event's widely used name.

When the crew member made some tea on the surface of the Moon what was he using for air to breathe? There is no atmosphere, there are no gases suitable for a human being to breathe. When he created the fire how did it ignite, there are no suitable gases to enable it to light? What did the fire consist of, there being no twigs, logs, coal etc there?

If i was a Lancaster crew member in ww2, i would slip some tea bags in my flight suit just in case. Chocolate too, and rubbers just in case. Oh, i wont be around in 9 months. Ditch that. A small pair of scissors for nose hair would be good, and a box of matches.

As you say, there is light on the far side of the moon, and there is an atmoshere, isnt there? One would need to breathe more deeply, and striking a match might need more gusto. He had a whole plane to burn. I reckon he died of boredom.

What is there to do up there? The aliens gave him food, its the least they could do after a kidnap. Massive guilt there. It seems to me seti is ignoring the equivalent of alien eastenders.

There is, arguably, an atmosphere (definitions vary) but between the surface and including the atmosphere there are no gases that support human beings breathing. Striking a match would be 6 times easier than on Earth but it would achieve nothing. The moon lacks oxygen. Therefore, it is not possible to light fire on the moon.
