Are there now a 'Big 7' in the Premiership?

I must admit I don't follow the UK press so don't know if it's being mentioned there but having just watched Newcastle go to Spurs and win the pundits on NBC here in the US are talking in the terms of there now being a 'Big 7' in the Premiership.

With the big money takeover, the appointment of Eddie Howe as manager, the players they have recruited and their fanatical and huge fanbase are Newcastle now in a position to upset the proverbial applecart? I'm no fan of using large sums of foreign (dodgy?) money to buy success but to quote someone (can't quite remember who? ) "I will love it, love it" if they break the 'Big 6' monopoly.
