Should be a general election. The party members and many of the general public can’t stand the slimy snake!

I think Boris did the right thing .... it just wasn’t going to work out. Can’t see Mordaunt getting enough support ..... so a coronation for Sunak. I am actually glad the voting will not go to the Tory membership .... they couldn’t make a decent decision to save their lives as they have already proven ... Truss, Duncan-Smith etc.

I actually think Sunak might not be a bad choice for the current economic predicament - at least he understands finance. I agree with all the concerns about his wife’s tax .... but just because he’s rich doesn’t necessarily mean he doesn’t care about the country and the people.

I said to my missus this afternoon that Boris would pull out, it’s the right decision.

When your time is gone it’s gone.

I don’t see Sunak being an opposition leader so I think he’ll be gone after the next election anyway.

That’s his only hope Kets but I think everyone knows it’s over for him now.

The next leader will probably be someone most of us haven’t heard of, Mordaunt has had two failures now so she’s tainted goods.

If Sunak does get the job, which looks odds on, I could change the habit of a life time and vote Labour. I can't stand the man! There is one caviat to me voting Labour, they'd have to ditch that horrible Raynor woman.

If it was down to Tory party members no doubt Boris would have got in but even if he did manage to get the 100 plus votes required the investigations into his behaviour are still ongoing and we could have had the even more farcical (if this is possible&#128512 situation of having BJ back as PM but then thrown out of parliament. In truth, him coming back as PM was never going to happen anymore than the Conservatives agreeing to a GE.

Think it will be Sunak now. Much as I dislike him, at least he seems more knowledgeable regarding the economy and although, as a Tory, he will never agree to any real financial levelling up and continue to want to protect the wealthy I do also believe that he genuinely cares about the country and its population. Certainly has more of a social conscience than Truss.

Whatever, unless the new Tory PM can perform a few miracles I think the majority of the public have had their fill of the Tories now and can see Labour getting in at next election. Starmer may not be inspiring but he is probably a safe pair of hands and personally would not object to him but still have concerns over divisions in Labour and the impact of the far Left. Like Leics, every time Raynor opens her gob I just want to slap her.

Haha. So a proven lying law breaker and an incredibly stupid woman who crashed the economy in 6 weeks are fine to vote for. But the guy who knows loopholes and is savvy with his finances isn’t. This is every typical Tory voter in a nutshell.

If it was down to me I’d ban Tory members from voting ever again, and I’d ban the over 60s from voting on a new Brexit referendum. I think that’s fair isn’t it.
