United to appeal Red card. Have video evidence from other angles.
There are limited camera angles in VAR in Scotland which means it can only catch certain images.
If it is not 100% then get it to ****.
If United the appeal they should demand VAR is removed until it can be run properly. With this amateur lot in charge of Scottish football that will be never
It will unfortunately take a colossal f#ck up in the arse cheek derby in January for anything to be done about this. I full expect the red card to stand as they will not want it to look embarrassing for the SPFL.
I'll be angry if they even downgrade it a yellow, it shouldn't be a booking full stop. I'm not one for generally having a go at refs, but the standard here is bogging. On Beaton, I specifically remember him giving one of the worst decisions I've seen last season when awarding Hibs a handball penalty against St John at easter road. He is completely hopeless as are most of them, which is another reason we shouldn't have VAR up here, it gives us 2 incompetents sets of officials instead of one and therefore twice the opportunity to mess up, and highlight just how poor they are.
There have been 12 red cards given out in all the SPFL Prem games so far this season.
John Beaton has given out 4, Willie Collum 2 and the other 14 Prem refs a total of 6 between them.
Beaton 4 in 6 games = 67%. Collum 2 in 8 games = 25%. The other 14 refs 6 reds in 62 games = 10%.
In our Scottish Cup tie v Celtic at home last season he left unpunished Hatate raking Freeman's leg.
On Saturday he took home £850 + 45p/mile (£75).
He's a EUFA ref and can earn between £2.5k and £7k for their games.
Just shows you don't have to be very good.
Thanks be to Transfermrket.
i seen a video on twitter last night that pie and bovril page shared and it looks like a red all day
note- this is not any of the videos or any stills that were circulating saturday an yesterday during the day
Where did they get the new footage from then OA? Strange one indeed.
There is a great angle on the BBC site. Player thinks about a tackle, Watt thinks about it, keeps a high boot just in case. Player doesn't fully commit, Watt pulls out, daylight between legs and boot. Guy thinks he is away to get a bad one, squeals like a pig, rolls aboot huddin his imaginary broken leg. Ref (very close) waves play on. VAR ref (miles away) sees something (ahem....) Straight red???? What a crock of Sh**e.....
