There are multiple problems with the immigration system that lie at the door of the government.

The first is obvious - they have failed to invest in an effective and efficient "filtering" system - whist simultaneously frittering away taxpayers money on non-solutions like accommodating people in hotels. The Home Office system is antequated and employs Excel spreadsheets instead of the latest technology and they are massively understaffed as they pay peanuts and have no recruitment drive.
The facts are startling - only 4% of small boat immigrants that arrived in 2021 have had a decision. That means 96% of them are still here PLUS those who have arrived since and all these people are costing UK PLC money.
There are legal immigrants and refugees - who should be welcomed with open arms and given access to the jobs our industries are desperate to fill so they can pay taxes/pay their way.
Then there are illegal immigrants and economic migrants who should be given short shrift.
But none of this can happen whilst the Home Office can't manage it's way out of a wet paper bag and sort out the legals from the illegals quickly and efficiently.

Secondly what do we do with the illegals? Brexit cut off our returns arrangement with the EU and Johnson declined Macron's generous offer for the British to set up a "clearing house" in France. As it stands the government policy is untenable as numbers will grow and grow.
So if they're going to stay here is there a programme under which they can be put to work? I don't think it's rocket science to set up a national labour agency where industry and agriculture can access a vast pool of labour and skills to help boost our economy instead of just locking them up and paying through the nose. Plus when word got out it would be an effective deterrent for potential arrivals.

The Home Office piss poor performance, lack of investment, failure to plan ahead (they've had 12 years!) and failure to renegotiate returns agreements is beyond a joke - and we're paying for it.

12 years of Toxic Party governance lusty and now "immigration" is their BIG ISSUE to provide a smokescreen and diversion for everything else they have got wrong.

    New Prime Minister anyone?

You're very handy with your quotes and facts usually mon ami, but this one seems to be eluding you, or maybe you've forgotten to reply. I'm not one to deny you having yet another rant, so I'll ask again,

This was of course messaged under the auspices of your favourite politician Jeremy Corbyn.
Not quite sure what your point is mon ami, we do not stop boats mid channel, quite the opposite, we provide every assistance to land them in Blighty in safety, nor do we return anyone without due process being followed. There are many Human Rights/Asylum/Immigration lawyers out there, ensuring that we don't.

Seems like a bit of grandstanding from the crusty old anti-semite to me, suggesting that what we should do, is what we do do anyway.

Even the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama accused Britain of becoming like a "madhouse" with a culture of "finding scapegoats" during a migration crisis where "failed policies" are to blame. Mr Rama hit out at Suella Braverman's "crazy" choice of language in a combative Commons debate this week, where she claimed there was an "invasion on our southern coast".

If immigrants are indeed welcome mon ami, why does she just not say so.

Even the Express can't understand if she's in or out. She will be gone (again!) before next Friday. Mark my words.

Oh and don't mention Elon Musk to Lefties either army, he's sent them into full meltdown mode as well.
Go and get yourself a free X-Ray mon ami, Braverman's handing them out like confetti at a nun's wedding...

    These are the facts:
Once again mon ami, it's you spouting the nonsense, let Amnesty explain to you what an asylum seeker is,

"An asylum seeker is a person who has left their country and is seeking protection from persecution and serious human rights violations in another country,"

The overwhelming majority currently arriving are young Albanian males, their human rights are not being violated in Albania, neither are they being persecuted. They are victims of people traffickers, attempting to enter the UK illegally. Call them what you like, but asylum seekers they most certainly are not.

Did you really not know this ?

I'm as confused as Ms Braverman is mon ami, she does not know the difference between her arse and her elbow.

All I know is Burnley are top of the Championship and in my little bubble nothing much else matters. I have a spare ticket for you for the Rovers game if you are interested?

Thank you for the offer mon ami, it's very kind of you. I'm not going, I was talking to a Blackburn fan in Clitheroe this morning, she was looking forward to going, although a bit apprehensive about Yorkshire St, as well she might be. I explained that, in the unlikely event that Blackburn win, I do not want to witness her and her mates celebrating on Turf Moor, I just don't want to see it ever again, nor put up with the miserable drive back home. If I'm at home I can simply switch the TV off, kick the cat {literally that is, we don't have a cat) and go and sulk for half an hour.
I know it's unlikely we'll lose, but we could and I''m not taking the chance, thanks again for the offer though.
