Yup and it took us hitting our lowest point, relegation to non league football, to be able to start to feel that way. Its about time we looked and were able to look forward to the medium/long term, and with confidence too as Chelt says.

It makes any talk of regression and lack of ambition look rather silly IMO.

As Davy has said on many occasions one of the key requirements of a club is to appoint a manager/head coach better than the previous one I believe the owners are 2 for 2 on that front.

I’m not 100% sure they did in Burchnall after Ardley, certainly probably a better coach but my gut would say Ardley was a better man manger, but getting the right manager is an extremely hard task.
LW is another level and appears to have both traits. I really hope Notts can keep hold of him as clubs will be looking at him already, should we be considering an improved contact extension now? Is his contract 2 or 3 years?

Agree with that observation Matt but of course if you break it down into individual attributes then you can argue it either way. One thing I believe was the style of football improved under IB compared to NA and was less defensive/conservative.

Obviously it's subjective and between NA and IB i believe it's minimal whichever way you look at it. Personally I saw it as an overall small improvement, and far more importantly a big improvement to LW.

Sorry if it’s been mentioned elsewhere.
    Interesting if short article.

Totally agree, I think if, and a it's a big if, we win this league it will largely be down to us having the better manager, you can’t deny the quality of Wrexham's playing squad. The only way we pip them and the rest will be LWs ability to get them the best out of our squad and some Lady Luck.

It will be interesting to see if we do strengthen the squad.
It’s a difficult balance as I think the stripped down squad size has probably helped form a better bond, which counts for a lot.
Both TAR and Austin have recently been interviewed and both seem to be loving life at Notts, despite being on the periphery.
Other than Palmer, I think we can absorb an injury without much impact. If any of the front 3 are injured, I think Austin comes in and we continue to create/score. Chicksen would be a big loss as Taylor hasn’t got the engine to make that last 20 yards to hit the back post.
2-3 injuries at the same time and then we really start to look like a different team.
We’ve got everything in place to win this league. We just need luck to match our ability.
