It was considered right at the start when the first lot of plans were made up. On the face of it it does seem the perfect solution to take traffic off Kingsway at Myrekirk and round the back of the site with the reverse route back. The thing that was against it was the narrow road between Birkhill and Myrekirk, it would have needed widened to allow buses to pass safely and the sharp bend at the bottom of the hill would need to have been removed. Temporary traffic lights at the Birkhill end would've taken care of the turn off /and onto that road from Coupar Angus Road.

Not what I asked is it? How many accidents? How do you define a 'near miss'?

You live on Islay, I live in Dundee very close to this potentially lethal circle, I probably use the road a bit more than you do and have never seen a near miss. Traffic turning from Kingsway or approaching the circle is generally moving very slowly, I tend to wave pedestrians over in such situations as they have right of way.

Remember you complained about trucks on rural roads regularly being on the wrong side of the road as you approach them? I said that although I use the roads in question regularly I'd never seen it? Do you see the same trend here that I do? Can you actually drive?

Main problem I can see with the Kingsway circus is it's not a circle in shape.

It allows traffic going east/west and vice versa to hardly have to break to negotiate the circus thus making cars going south/north or in particular north/south to edge out onto the Kingsway and then take a gamble of varying degrees to get across.

I go that way at busy times, the queue can be a bit much on Strathie.

And there are no concrete blocks waiting to jump out on you either.

Just because you see something as a problem it doesn't mean it is a problem or that there isn't a solution.
If they can do it in Perth, albeit really badly, they can do it in dundee....

When Kingsway Circus at Strathmartine Road was built the Kingsway it was the bypass of Dundee not the main road from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Aberdeen.
Trams used to sit in the middle of the Kingsway Circus at Strathmartine Road.

I thought you classed yourself in the 50 / 60 age bracket? If you can remember trams on the Kingsway Circus you must be a good bit older than 60.
