Haven't been into Brum for years but we are currently staying near kiddie to see relatives and I'm taking our youngest to meet up with some on Wednesday in the city. The better half isn't coming but asked me to have a look round the German Market for anything nice as she'd been to one in London a few years ago and quite enjoyed it. Guess I'll give it a miss based on this though! Those "sausages" look disgusting😝

If you go there looking for ‘something nice’, you are likely to fail. The Jewellery Quarter used to be worth a visit (I haven’t been there for years) there are plenty of nice things there.

    Where are you staying?

I live in Chaddesley Corbett so we're probably a stones throw apart at present.

Might try that Ketts. Haven't been there myself for many years either. Tbh, it's just a chance to meet up with some relatives and get shown around as so much has changed since I was last there. As a kid and ****ager I often went into town but have lived away from the area for over 30 years now and only visited infrequently since so guessing I won't recognise a lot of it. Our youngest has never been. I'd be grateful If you have any suggestions about what might be worth looking at though if you have any. I'll be pushing his wheelchair so depends on ease of access etc. We're getting off at Show Hill station.

Think you are literally just up the road from where we are staying! We are at a holiday barn in Stone about a mile from the A450 junction on the A448 just before you get to Kidderminster.

Well worth seeing, if it’s still there, is the ‘Staffordshire Hoard’ in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, an amazing collection of Anglo-Saxon gold and treasure. The workmanship on some of the pieces is just staggering. Really worth seeing.

Just checked, it is still there, free to go in, too!

Thanks Ketts. He said he might like to have a look at any museums so will give this a look. I'm told the new library is worth a visit too and you can get a panoramic view from the top?

Yes mate, you're obviously staying at or by The Stone Manor, it used to have a very good disco there back in my 80's heyday.

You'll be right by the Mustow Green island, literally a couple of miles from my house, I live at the top end of Chaddesley Corbett just half a mile from the village centre.

The Swan pub in the village has a very good reputation, ( Kets proposed to his wife on the car park there back in 1948, there's a plaque commemorating this great event on the wall of the pub! ) it's a Bathams pub by the way.

On the way into the village there's Brockencote Hall, my youngest daughter got married there, my biggest ever wasted investment!

They do a very nice afternoon tea if you book in advance.

The Talbot pub in Belbroughton does very good food and is worth a visit.

Rowberries Nurseries is just outside the village and they do decent food as does Ashwood Nurseries if you take the A449 and head towards Kingswinford.

How long are you staying for?

We're not here too long as will probably leave Thursday afternoon. Not had much of a chance to look around locally much so far as main point really was to stay somewhere close enough to meet up with my mum and dad and other family members as don't get to see them much lately. From what I've seen, Kidderminster itself doesn't look too much but look to be some nice areas along the A448 from Bromsgrove.

Used to go to the Stone Manor all the time myself Mick from about 85 to probably about 89, remember the ghastly curry they used to dish up at the end of a night to try and sober folks up before they went home, was a good pulling place that.
